is there any updates on the progress of the venom milking facility?
Very pleasing news. There hopefully is healthy demand for anacondas regionally. Nicki Minaj is the name of Australia Zoo's anaconda they originally received from Canberra in 2018 so she must have have been transferred out to the reptile park for breeding purposes (unless there is another snake with the same name).Green Anacondas born
From an Instagram post - Nicki Minaj, the park’s Green Anaconda, has given birth to 16 live young. They’re on display in the Lost World of Reptiles over the school holidays.
The post also outlined that Nicki Minaj is about 3.5m long, and weighs over 50kgs. The snakelets were born at about 2 feet long, and weigh about 265g each
Very exciting news. In a few years we should see a few new holders popping up!Green Anacondas born

Darling Downs is the only regional facility with Yellow Anacondas at the moment. Adelaide, Beerwah and the Reptile Park all have Green Anacondas afaik. Both Adelaide and Beerwah have a singular female each whereas the Reptile Park has a breeding pair (plus the sixteen new offspring).Exciting!
How many adults are in the region? Are any yellow anacondas present?
National and DDZ also each have a Green Anaconda.Darling Downs is the only regional facility with Yellow Anacondas at the moment. Just checked the exotic reptiles thread and it seems there are also individuals at Ballarat, Crocodylus and Serpentarium Tasmania. No idea how many those three parks hold.National and DDZ also each have a Green Anaconda.

Not sure about either Canberra or DDZ. Hopefully someone can update us there.
The National Zoo and Aquarium still had one when I visited in October 2023, and I believe that DDZ still had theirs when I visited in April 2023.DDZ still should have the female who used to be at Taronga. National still had one when I went in 2022.
