Twycross Zoo Twycross Giant Tortoise

Does anybody know the whereabouts of George the giant Aldabra tortoise? he located to Twycross in 2004 from Southport.

We noticed that he had escaped from his enclosure a few times over the past few years, so presumed the zoo have moved him on.

Ah okay? When I asked they told of me 3 giants they have, but didn’t mention George, so I presumed he’s not there

Would like to go and meet him again. I looked after him in Southport for 5 years up to 2004 when we moved him to twycross, 20 years ago madness!

The one called speedy came from Southport

Thanks, think I’ve got names crossed, now you’ve said speedy - I think George was a big sulcata, not the giant. Here’s hoping il be able to meet Speedy again!
