Edinburgh Zoo Maned Wolf Cubs

Hi there...

Does anyone know if the wolfcubs have been born? if so..are they out in their enclosure or when are they expected to be out?

SO excited to see them as i barely see the maned wolves awake... hopefully this might mean some action in their enclosure

thanks for any info :)
 
the cubs are expected to appear 6-8 weeks after being born

the two young adults at Edinburgh have been more active after 4pm, particularly the male since the cubs have been born as he patrols the perimeter of the enclosure and scent marks
 
was at the Zoo on Sunday 16th, male was out in enclosure and female in cubbing den, 4 kits were hidden under the hay but house is now open to visitors again so with a bit of luck the kits will be seen
 
I was at the zoo yesterday and saw two of the kits albeit not as clearly as i would have liked to but was pleased to get a glimpse of them.They were outside in one of the outdoor shelters which are quite dark inside,i only saw them because they moved,one especially lively one was trying to climb up on the mothers back.I never expected to see them because their house was closed again but there was a sign up saying the keepers were aware of an injury to one of the animals and not to worry as it was receiving veterinary treatment.
 
house at the top of the hill is closed due to pigeons nesting inside, house at bottom of hill (near to lions) was open last weekend

that was indeed the case yesterday as well,although i never saw anything from the bottom house the family was in the outdoor den that faces the viewing platform next to the top house.
 
Hi there....

I saw the kits yesterday... yesterday when i went to the zoo to celebrate its 100th birthday... i have pictures.. tho they are not the best.. will post the link to them on here soon :)
 
was through at the zoo yesterday and saw all four cubs

they have dug a den at the back of the top enclosure covered cave and are sleeping behind there

best time to see them is after 4pm when they start venturing out and exploring
