2024 April Fool's Day Jokes from US Zoos

Thought it would be fun to create a thread to share our favorite April Fool's Day jokes made by US zoos over social media/ email/ etc.

My personal favorite was this very simple little joke from the Fort Worth Zoo, indicating that their zoo train was closed today due to training new conductors (namely, lemurs).

I would like to offer the evil joke from the San Antonio Zoo in Texas bringing back its "Sky Ride" attraction, going so far as to release concept images of what it would look like and where exactly it would be located. It made me backtrack throughout the day like "Is this real or an actual joke".

These really are the worst sort of April Fool's Day "jokes". There's no actual joke, there's no comical element. It's practically just a bait and switch lie that they felt obligated to make because everyone else was. And yeah, I get that that's the "point" of the holiday, but the whole thing winds up being insufferable when every online entity is trying to get in on it, and many of them have no sense of what makes something funny or compelling, and it's at times not clear whether the thing was even supposed to be a joke or not.

The best April Fool's Day things are the lighthearted goofs that might make you smile for a moment and then move on with your day. The first one posted, the lemur conductors, maybe isn't the best example of a particularly funny joke, but it's silly and harmless and probably makes most people's days briefly mildly better instead of potentially worse.
