Re: the elephant relocation. The exclosure was unfit for the elderly elephants due to the undulating terrain and medical conditions with elderly elephants and the plan to complete an entire Savannah exhibit with them backfired due to the hilly parts. I think both from an animal welfare point and exclosure it is wholly understandable. Be interesting to know ... what next for this part of PD in future.
Do you know the species list ? Any new arrivals for the exhibit? The new Japanese world at Pairi Daiza, "The Land of the Rising Sun", will open on May 11th.

The rate at which this collection is developing is simply astonishing. Excuse my ignorance, but do we have a rough date for the new Tropical House (planned to be Europe's largest if memory serves), and are there any other upcoming exhibits at the zoo?
The new tropical house will open in 2025 at the earliest, if they can get it done in that timeframe. Given just how much work remains to be done I think 2026 is perhaps more likely, and with a project of this size perhaps it would be good for them to take a bit more time.
Pairi Daiza never stops pumping out new exhibits and thanks very much for all your updates. I was just looking at the zoo's online map and they haven't updated it yet to include the Japanese world yet. I do have a question about the upcoming 4 hectare/10 acre 'greenhouse' project. Where in the zoo will it be located?
Is the car park covered with solar panels??
