An Andean Bear was born at Parque de la Conservación, Medellin on 21st December. The zoo's breeding pair comprises of a five-year-old wild-born male that was rescued by wildlife authorities and a nine-year-old female that was bred at Cali Zoo. There are now four bears (1.2.1) at the zoo with the breeding pair and their offspring along with a 21-year-old female: Anuncian nacimiento de oso andino en el Parque de la Conservación de Medellín - MiOriente
 
Updates from social media:
  • two Andean Bears have moved to Parque Jaime Duque near Bogotá which recently established a nature reserve to release bears. These two will join another bear that are currently planning on releasing.
  • four Capybara, six Red Brockets and a Brown-nosed Coati have arrived via the illegal pet trade.
  • seven American Flamingos have hatched.

I assume the bears to be released are not the breeding pair at Santa Fe Zoo in Medellin?
