Omaha is definitely a strong guess, but CCTU could have also had one or more male tapirs born in 2021-2022 so that is also a possibility where William may have come from.

According to this Facebook post, 1.0 "Rosco" moved from the Virginia Zoo to the San Diego Zoo sometime recently.

Rosco was not at Virginia Zoo prior to his move to San Diego. He was at another unspecified facility.
I would like to correct myself, he did indeed come from Virginia Zoo, and has been living at San Diego Zoo since at least 2022.

0.1 Ulan is moving from Woodland Park Zoo to Fresno Chaffee Zoo at the end of this month to be paired with William. WPZ will acquire a new young pair next spring after some exhibit renovation happen.

A male calf was born at Zoo Miami on Monday to Tengi and Kazu.

From their announcement on Instagram, the calf has been named (1.0) Makan, which means “to eat” in Malay.

As above in the Calgary news thread, Sempura is pregnant, sire is Tanuck
I’m surprised this announcement slipped through this thread’s radar; but basically, the Point Defiance Zoo welcomed the birth of a female tapir named (0.1) Ume. The calf was born on February 2nd, and is the daughter of parents (1.0) Baku and (0.1) Yuna.
As for the pair’s previous calf, (1.0) Kazu, do we have any idea as to where he went?
Makan was much celebrated as Zoo Miami’s first birth in 18 years. He was the first surviving offspring of his mother, who previously had a stillborn calf in 2022.

Woodland Park Zoo has acquired 23-month old 0.1 Binti, who comes from the Ellen Trout Zoo in Texas.

Female calf was born Aug 28th (Tanuck x Sempura)
Not reported in here yet, but the female Sanae gave birth recently to a female calf at the Miller Zoo in Quebec, as well!
Truly wonderful news, and a rather unique event for Canada, two Malayan Tapir calves at the same time! And of course two healthy, young, (and genetically valuable), females is an excellent boon to the North American population as well.

The calf waas named "Nyawa" according to the blog post posted by the zoo.
