The zoochat site seem very slow?
EG when looking at a new thread. It takes a long time to bring it up.

My computer seems fine on other sites?

Is it just me???

It's not just you - the site has been running slowly at times for me as well.

I'm considering moving the site to a new server - but that might take a little while to organise.

In the meantime, I apologise for the occasionally poor performance ... I find it just as annoying as you do!

Sim is this problem avoidable?

Is a soloution to this problem.

More zoochat supporters?

The site has been painfully slow for me at times, and I still cannot upload any photos. Other people seem to be having no problem, therefore I suppose it depends on location and computer speed.

Hi zooman - I suspect that the problem is related to the shared server the site is currently hosted on. I am investigating the impact this is having and will look at relocating the site to a new server with greater capacity and which is less susceptible to performance issues than the current server.

Partly dependent on location and computer speed (or more accurately, internet connection speed) ... but mostly I believe it is an intermittent problem that comes and goes which is why it seems to work for some people and not others ... unfortunately it has been coming more than going of late.

the site does come off quite slow recently on my computer as well, though I noticed it to be most sluggish in the morning.. well my morning.

I have confirmed the problems are server related - it's quite overloaded right now.

I have managed to arrange a move to a new server that is being built right now, hopefully within the next 24 hours or so the site should be moved and performance should improve.

Note that there may be a period where the site doesn't work correctly and you see error messages - that will be due to missing software on the new server that I need to request my provider to install ... I'll get that done as soon as possible after the migration.

Thanks Sim.

The day does not get off to a good start without a quick dose of ZooChat!!

Slow downloads mean that I have to leave much of my "Chatting" until evening!

Our zoochat has been succesfully introduced into his new enviroment it seems.

Thanks heaps Sim

Not quite yet - later tonight hopefully.

This is the problem with diagnosing performance issues like this - it comes and goes. Today the site is running well, yet nothing has changed since yesterday when it was really slow.

The move later today should hopefully lead to more reliable service for the near future.

I'm still looking at other alternatives for hosting - especially given I want to expand the capabilities of the site to include video, which requires some careful planning to ensure I don't end up with massive bills for bandwidth and disk space usage.

Now l can rest!

Knowing zoochat represents 67 countries:D

The origional countries thread disapeared? Like it matters! LOL
