Nashville Zoo Nashville Zoo News 2024

that is very exciting news! From what I know Crocodile Tegu's are a fairly recent arrival into the US, I only started seeing them popup on reptile seller sites within the past 3 years and the only other zoo I am aware that has them is Reptilandia in Texas
They are newer specimens to the US, I have only seen them at Nashville, Reptilandia and Reptarium in Michigan.

I have talked to officials at Khao Kheow Open Zoo that they may send red shaked douc languar to exchange animals with nashville zoo Coming soon.
Is this legit? I'm genuinely curious to see where doucs could be incorporated into Nashville's current layout, or if they'll be in a new dedicated complec - either way, the prospect alone is exciting!

If I heard correctly, it should be true. Khao Kheow Open Zoo and Nashville Zoo.They have been partners for over 20 years, so it is not strange that there is contact. We have to wait and see what the plans of both zoos will be. Will Khao Kheow Open Zoo get animals from Nashville and Nashville get red shaked douc languar

There is a new Southeast Asian exhibit in development (orangutan, clouded leopard, hornbill, etc.) and given that Nashville has an affinity for importing mammals not present in U.S...

And there is indeed a relationship between the two collections. The clouded leopard consortium is based at Khao Kheow Open Zoo and Nashville is the most significant member of that consortium in the country. I was skeptical initially, but given the circumstances and the zoo's track record, this may actually end up happening.

Might be time for me to start thinking about a return visit...
