In middle of August I have plans to travel around Switzerland for around 9 days. I will arrive in Basel and fly back from Lyon (FR). I will have a car. I made this list of zoos worth of visit. Any comments and suggestions? You will skip or add something? Thx

Zoo Basel
Parc Zoologique et Botanique de Mulhouse (France)
Zoo Zurich
Walter Zoo
Schlangen Zoo Eschlikon
Fasanerie und Voliere Zug
Nature and Animal Park Goldau
Zoo Bern
Papiliorama
The Eagles of Lake Geneva
Servion Zoo
AQUATIS Aquarium-Vivarium

From my experiences some of these places only take up a few hours of time to visit (Schlangen Zoo Eschlikon, Fasanerie Zug, Aquatis), so maybe you could try and combine these with other zoos nearby, like Aquatis combines with Zoo Servion. Also, at Servion you also have the option to buy a combined ticket for both the zoo and their tropiquarium, I'd highly reommend visiting both! And f you're already in the area, there's a small and free park in Geneva called "Bioparc de Geneve", they have some interesting species like Fossas, civets and a two-headed greek tortoise. And one last place I'd add to the list is Sikypark, it's similar to the big cat sanctuary i the UK.

I did a similar tour last year about which you can read about in this thread: Philippine eagle spotted above the Alpes - ZooChat . Feel free to ask any question you might have.

I think it's a good selection which include alle major institutions.

You could add Knie's Kinderzoo in Rapperswill to complete a full day with Zug and Goldau, but only if you're coming from Zurich that day, as it's a bizarre rather than an interesting place.

Servion Zoo also mean's Servion Tropicarium, these are next to each other. And you can combine these with Aquatis on the same day.

Bern and Papiliorama could easily be done on a single day.

Each of the combinations described above in no way mean an overcrowded day where you have to rush very much.

If you love art, consider visiting a few art museums, as the country has fantastic collections.

Natural history museum in Geneva is big, high quality and interesting, more than any zoo in the area. And it is free!

Thx @Nal_12 for your comment!

@Jurek7 Natural history museum looks very interesting, but it is closed for renovation for more than one year :(

@Philipine eagle Many thanks for your thread hint. That was a treasure for me! I really enjoy reading it is the reason that I add following stops to my trip:
Stadtvolière Lindengut
Vogelvoliere Stansstad
Toni's Zoo Holzhüsern
Volière du Parc de Mon Repos

Excellent, I wish you a great journey.

Since you are traveling by car, a few more issues:

In the residential area around Lindengut Park, it is almost impossible to park without a resident permit. However, a short distance away there is a parking lot at the Technical Institute (Technikumstrasse). With a little luck you will find a parking space there. The aviary is then within walking distance.

In Stansstad there is a small parking lot at the railroad workshops.

In Zurich I would try to arrive very early: there are many parking lots nearby but the zoo is very crowded and even before opening time on weekends dense crowds of visitors pass through the neighborhood. You don't want to lose an hour looking for parking.

In Basel I stayed in the budget version of a hotel chain: underground parking for a reasonable price + free Baslecard (50% discount at the zoo). The zoo is easily accessible on foot or via tram
