Yes, I’ve thought this would be the scenario if supported by the stud book coordinator.
But the Bristol ostrich pair have eggs they are hoping they will incubate, so unlikely to do any move at present?
Maisy (paignton) is a red neck, the only one currently in a public collection in this country. So she will be sent to Europe I believe, couldn't say where.

Tierpark Berlin currently have a 'spare' male so potentially there, but that's of course a blind guess. It's poor timing given Bristol intend to house red-necked ostriches

At the moment, the new ostrich enclosure is almost complete in terms of ground work, and the eggs during the first few days weren’t being cared for properly so there is chance that they may not hatch, either of these 2 things could mean that they get the red necked ostrich sooner then expected

I do admire your blind optimism that just became there is a species Bristol wish to keep going surplus in the UK,this doesn't mean it will be going there are other places out there that want to work with the species and not all of them have made it public like Bristol, so that the regulars don't get disappointed when what they see as an opportunity to get said species doesn't happen.
I visited today; the Pelicans look stunning in the new aviary and is a welcome addition to that part of the zoo, which is in such a terrible state - well done to all involved!
The Swamp Wallabies have a new shelter which is closer to the viewing path. Hopefully this will encourage them to come closer to the fence?
Members were sent an email with a questionnaire last week along with an open invite to attend a meeting to meet the new acting CEO about the zoos future. All of this is excellent and it’s great to finally have some pro-active, honest and positive face to face communication with the zoo’s management.
Things feel like they’re ’on the way up’, and although they’ve not got huge resources, they are forming a plan to improve the place, finally, whilst including their core base in the conversation.

Haven't visited Paignton in a few years - however was my first zoo and what grasped my enjoyment for animals. I had a few questions I was hoping someone could answer:
1. Do they still keep Cassowarry & Golden Pheasants?
2. Has the Desert House closed yet? I remember it looking on its way out...
3. Where is the new Pelican Aviary?

1. Yes to cassowary, believe so for the pheasants.
2. Been/being refitted to house Cape porcupines.
3. Former Lowland tapir enclosure.

No, the two original male takin both died, essentially of old age, so replacements are expected from Highland WP. I hope the Kune kune pigs will 'cultivate' the flat ground of the old takin enclosure for them (without falling off the rock face, as it's an old quarry). The ostrich ought to go abroad as it's the only one in the UK and there doesn't seem much prospect of bringing in a mate.
Maybe they should equip the KuneKune pigs with some climbing equipment...
though in reality I don't think they will attempt to scale the rock face...
so what then will be made of the old takin quarry other than pigs? Unless takin will be in both then?

The pigs are there temporarily until takin arrive from Highland.

I don't know about a newer enclosure, sorry.
Not sure where you're getting newer exhibit from - unless I'm much mistaken the plan is to put pigs in the takin exhibit temporarily until the new individuals from HWP arrive. This takin enclosure was formerly a quarry but was repurposed for takin a few years ago. The new takin will then replace the pigs in this enclosure.
