Even the most heavyweight zoos in Europe are only offering scraps at this point.

I’m almost certain I saw an additional species of giant katydid at Poznan, but unfortunately it was unlabelled and I can’t claim sufficient expertise to identify it.

342. Springhare - Pedetes capensis

I’m now at the point where a zoo as good as Zlin can not return a single new species in either the global or European challenges.

Dvur Kralove Safari Park - 23/7/2024
310. Thomson’s gazelle - Eudorcas thomsonii
311. Campbell’s mona monkey - Cercopithecus campbelli

325. Greater spot-nosed monkey - Cercopithecus nictitans
326. Common marmoset - Callithrix jacchus

So I made a mistake and just realized that I actually saw (and even photographed) a Geoffroy's Tamarin at the Bronx Zoo during my first day there, and completely neglected to include it here. This happened because I mistakenly put the Bronx as having a Geoffroy's Marmoset on a private species list.

My total has increased by one, because I have already seen the Geoffroy's Marmosets elsewhere.

Apologies, but I need to correct 3 mistakes. Sugar glider, Tajik markhor and Bharal were counted twice. I am on 188.

After almost two weeks travelling in a @snowleopard company around the beautiful and full of amazing creatures South East Asia, I will try to catch up with the updates. The first stop was Thailand, where we saw some very disturbing practices, but also some unforgettable sights. Snowleopard will tell more about the Zoos in his big future travelogue.

I will remove the Leopard Cat and start counting from 187.

Technically, I suppose so? The issue here would be that, as with many inverts, it's generally hard without signage to know for sure what species you're seeing. If it's 100% certain and signed then I don't have a problem with it. But I'm not sure how that goes with feeder crickets specifically.

You can refer to this post. It seems that there are multiple species used as feeder crickets, though, so I’m inclined to say no unless there was signage that confirms what species you were looking at. Though that seems unlikely.

No signage, but I know how to ID them. Is that sufficient?
