Long, long ago (1980s? 1990s?) we visited Twycross and saw a hand-reared young gorilla named "Tiger" (though I think it may have been a pet name rather than its studbook name). Can anyone confirm the details and what happened to him?

Slight correction in that Mambie went from Twycross to Paignton first, then later to Spain. That was his 'pet' name, usually shortened to 'Ti'. Formal/SB name was Sekondi.
Details; Male. born Edinburgh Zoo. 23.3.89. (Parents; Samsam/Yinka)
died Twycross Zoo 26.2.07.
offspring- male Matadi(mother Ozala) died at Antwerp.
female Ndoki.( " " " ) died at Twycross.
Sekondi/Ti was handreared after transfer from Edinburgh, then kept in part of the former Bonobo house with male Mambie and female Asante. Mambie was later sent away to Bioparc Valencia and replaced with Ozala. Sekondi and the two females later transferred to the existing Gorilla house.
Sekondi died at the young age of 18 but I don't know the exact cause of his death.
