Kiwi birds aren’t that rare as they are found in dozens of American zoos. Giant pandas aren’t as rare as they are found/were found in several major zoos and so are Tasmanian devils.
I do not think Mouflon are rare. They are kept mostly in private places. Toronto Zoo and a closed Quebec Zoo also had them. There are 19 holders of European Mouflon in North America according to ZooTierlist. 404 holders in Europe. ZootierlisteHomepage

Kiwis have been in 45 zoos in history, so it’s likely most zoochatters have seen one, and they are in lots of major zoos

Yes because only two facilities hold them: Bearizona and Arizona Sonora Desert Musuem.
While ZTL may say this it is not true, Brookfield and Toledo both immediately come to mind as former kiwi holders.
