North American Asian Elephant Population 2024

Anyone have any preferences regarding the sire of Rozie's fetus?
Groucho or Bodhi are unquestionably the best choices. Groucho is a wildborn founder with only a handful of children (and has thrown cows), and Bodhi is a valuable bull with him being the only surviving offspring of a wildborn founder (Coco). Albert has dozens of siblings and cousins running around on both sides, as do Jake and Chuck.

2 year old twins Yaad and Tukada at the Rosamond Grifford Zoo have received the EEHV vaccine! Incredible news, Brazos' results at Forth Worth must've indicated an increase in antibodies.

Great news. I believe these are the fifth and sixth elephants to receive the vaccine:

0.1 Tess (1981) at Houston

Two young elephants at Houston (mentioned in article about Tess receiving vaccine)

1.0 Brazos (2021) at Forth Worth

2.0 Yaad (2022) and Tukada (2022) at Rosamond Grifford

This is amazing news! RGZ has had some bad luck in the past with the loss of Ajay and Batu within just three days of each other in 2020, so it is amazing to see that these young boys have a lesser chance of it happening to them too.

A little disappointing considering she won’t overlap lives with her great-great grandchild who will be born next year in OKC, North America’s first ever fourth generation elephant calf (though her son Chanda died back in 2015).

Did I miss the news, was that officially confirmed or is it still speculation? (the OKC stuff, not talking about Kamala)
