Southwick's Zoo Species List (October 20, 2024)

Notes:
Species signed but not seen are italicized.
Species seen but not signed are red.
Species seperated by commas are in the same enclosure
Species are in order of when I saw them
I might have missed some species as the zoo has a confusing layout.

Feel free to comment on any missing or misidentified animals. I feel like I missed quite a lot of species.

I think I’m missing the grivet, tapir, capybara, and de Brazza’s monkey. Are they still there?

I believe Elk (on the Marsh Tour) and I believe Spotted Hyena are in the area of the Barbary Sheep as well. The four mammals you mentioned were all there in the summer of 2023.

I know about the elk on the marsh trail but is the marsh trail like a reserve, wild animals, or is it enclosures?

Which monkey? The layout of the zoo is so confusing that I was often on the same pathway multiple times to see different paths
I thought this was the Franklin park thread lol, but all of your animals listed plus the elk should be listed.

So for the marsh trail, are elk wild or is it like deer forest? I’ve never gone ( the line was so long. I did see signs for trumpeter swan, Wild Turkey, and American elk though

Should be captive individuals along with the swans and possibly turkey.

Are the seriemas off-exhibit then? I went in September and didn't find them, asked and was told they were being examined by the vet.
