On March 7th, the zoo announced they acquired a zebra shark named Flauta which is on display in the Reef tank. The zoo also announced they transferred a (0.1) zebra shark named Valentine to the Shedd Aquarium in Illinois.

On April 1st, it was reported that the zoo renamed the (0.2) blacktip reef sharks from Big and Little to Allira and Allora.

On April 7th, the zoo announced they acquired a (0.1) Himalayan red panda named Nima from the John Ball Zoo in Michigan which is now on display in the Reeve's muntjac exhibit.

Fort Wayne Zoo unveils newly renovated Coastal Cove, introduces new seal

Families gathered at the Fort Wayne Zoo as officials unveiled the $5.5 million upgrade to aquatic exhibit Coastal Cove.

The sea lion habitat originally opened in 2002, and zoo officials felt like it was time for a change, so they decided to add a second species.

Now coastal cove is home to California sea lions Valkyrie and Cassandra, and a new harbor seal Ronan who’s new to Fort Wayne after coming from another zoo.

Schuiteman says the next steps are bringing even more harbor seals to join Ronan in the next few months.
 
Went to the zoo today and here are some updates the giraffes are off habitat from the looks of it their expanding the already massive exhibit almost all the birds in African journey besides the ostrich and the white storks and wattled crane are off exhibit the wattled cranes have a nest with one egg and finally the woma python exhibit has nothing in it and no sign
 
Went to the zoo a couple of days ago and here are some updates 1 the woma python is back on exhibit and now has two exhibits

2 one of the albino peafowl had chicks which I found in the Australian section

3 the African birds are now on exhibit and one of the hornbills I forget the name is no longer displayed their exhibit is now home to milky owls

4 The zoo is actively working on the velet barn project and the project is behind the giraffe exhibit which kinda ruined the African feel

Does anyone have any news on Jarvis, the buff-crested bustard who lives with the African greys? He's been off-exhibit for a while and now his sign isn't there.

On June 13th, the zoo announced that 2 crested pigeons hatched earlier in the year, which are on display in the Australia Aviary. This is the first time in Fort Wayne's history to successfully bred crested pigeons.

On June 24th, it was reported that the zoo named the monkey Moyo (Swahili for heart).

On September 8th, the zoo announced that a wattled crane hatched on August 29th, which is now on display in African Journey. This is the first time in Fort Wayne's history to successfully bred wattled crane.

On September 12th, the zoo announced their male (1.0) reticulated python named Bo passed away due to age-related health issues.
