New inhabitants as in new bats or new inhabitants period?

Technically speaking, it says "Nieuwe invulling", which is the most ambiguous way to say it. Could mean new bats, could mean another new animal, might mean they'll turn it into a little museum. My bet's on bats though

Birth of a Yellow-breasted Capuchin Monkey.
DierenPark Amersfoort on Instagram: "Leuk nieuws: er is een geelborstkapucijnaapje geboren! Het jong drinkt goed, is gezond en kijkt nieuwsgierig om zich heen. Nu klampt het kleine aapje zich nog vast aan de moeder, maar langzamerhand zal het jong steeds vaker zelf op avontuur gaan. Het geelborstkapucijnaapje leert door goed naar de volwassen dieren te kijken en hen na te apen. Geelborstkapucijnapen worden in de natuur ernstig bedreigd. De apensoort komt voor in de tropische regenwouden van Brazilië waar veel bomen worden gekapt. Daardoor wordt hun leefomgeving steeds kleiner. In ons park kun je de geelborstkapucijnen bewonderen op het eiland bij de Expeditie-rivier. Als je geluk hebt, vaar je in je fietsboot onder de apen door!"

20-year-old chimpanzee Mahale gave birth to her first young today. The sex is not yet known.

At least 0.0.3 Twentse Geese (a traditional Dutch breed of goose, from the domesticated species) have hatched.

The Red Pandas are temporarily off display.
The enclosure is currently inhabited with peacocks! This has been the case since we last visited in may.
To our surprise we noticed 5 hatchlings today.

Oh, more bird news: at our last visit in may there were several eggs in the Southern Screamer nest. These eggs seem to have dissapeared a month later, but we only saw adult animals in the enclosure... Perhaps these eggs are being hatched behind the scenes?

Three snowy owls have hatched a few weeks ago They now leave the nest for a bit so you can spot them when you visit.

The pair of Hamerkops (Scopus umbretta) have laid eggs, a first for Dierenpark Amersfoort.

Small news from Dierenpark Amersfoort: new garden dormice have arrived at the zoo. The zoo's facebook post announcing this states the new inhabitants are active and easy to spot, posting a video of the mice exploring their enclosure.

I'm wondering if we'll actually spot the dormice soon. I have seen forest mice around the enclosure, but the dormice inside the enclosure have hidden quite well before now.

DierenPark Amersfoort on Instagram: "Geboortenieuws! Er zijn halsbandleguanen uit het ei gekropen in ons park. De jongen zijn gezond, eten goed en springen in het rond. De kleine leguanen zijn dol op krekels en fruitvliegjes. De dieren zijn nog jong en zullen na verloop van tijd steeds grotere insecten eten. Voorlopig verblijven de kleine reptielen achter de schermen, je **** de ouders wel ontmoeten in het Honderdduizend Dierenhuis!"

The zoo has received 2 males from Gaiapark.

Arrival of 0.1 young Red Panda called SHANTI from a French zoo.
DierenPark Amersfoort on Instagram: "Nieuwe dierbewoner! Maak kennis met rode panda Shanti. Het eenjarige vrouwtje komt uit een dierenpark in Frankrijk en onderzoekt nieuwsgierig haar nieuwe verblijf. De kleine panda heeft inmiddels kennisgemaakt met haar medebewoners: de pauwen! Het gaat heel goed met Shanti. Ze eet goed en zowel Shanti als de vogels reageren goed op elkaar. In de natuur komen rode panda’s vooral voor op de hellingen van het Himalayagebergte in Azië. De dieren leven en slapen hoog in de bomen. Shanti’s verblijf is daarom ingericht met veel bomen en takken. De diersoort wordt bedreigd, omdat de leefomgeving kleiner wordt door boskapping. Het DierenPark Amersfoort Wildlife Fund steunt het Red Panda Network. Deze natuurorganisatie beschermt de rode panda’s en hun bosrijke omgeving. Wil jij ook helpen? The Lion cubs have received the names of NAYA and ZOLA.

Het gaat erg goed met de welpen, zij kruipen steeds meer zelf heen en weer door de kraamkamer. Moeder Zaila houdt de twee goed in de gaten.
