Prehistoric Kingdom

Here are my opinions and thoughts for animals to add to Prehistoric Kingdom and they come from Dinosaurs Digs from Zoo Tycoon and Extinct Animals from Zoo Tycoon 2.

Caudipteryx: a small feathered dinosaur from china.

Herrerasaurus: Another Triassic Dinosaur to add to the game alongside Coelophysis, and Plateosaurus.

Camptosaurus: an ornithopod to add alongside the other Morrison fauna.

Plesiosaurus: a classic marine reptile.

Gallimimus: a prehistoric kingdom early development Dinosaur I would like to see added and it’s an ornithomimid.

Macrauchenia: a weird South American mammal and should be reconstructed without the trunk nose.

Megatherium (Giant Ground Sloth): the classic Giant Ground Sloth part of development I like to see be added.

Meiolania (Giant Tortoise): a giant prehistoric tortoise from Australia.

Carnotaurus: a famous iconic Abelisaur with horns and scale impressions.

Kentrosaurus: a classic African Stegosaur to contrast with the Stegosaurus.

Giant Camel (Titanotylopus): a giant camel from Miocene North America.

Deinosuchus: a giant prehistoric alligator that hunted dinosaurs.

Deinonychus: a dromaeosaur that started the Dinosaur Renaissance.

American Mastodon: another proboscidean to add alongside the Woolly Mammoth.

Dodo Bird: a classic Icon of Extinction.

Thylacine: The largest carnivorous Marsupial with unconfirmed sightings.

Warrah: a small Canid from the Falkland Islands.

Quagga: an extinct subspecies of the Plains Zebra with the front half having stripes.

Bluebuck: a grayish blue South African Antelope.

Dwarf Sicilian Elephant (Palaeoloxodon falconeri): who wants a small dwarf elephant in their park?

Euocladoceros (Bush-antlered Deer): a deer with strange antlers.

Utahraptor: the largest dromaeosaur compared to the velociraptor.

Dimetrodon: Could be the first synapsid added to the game.

Diprotodon: a giant wombat from Pleistocene Australia.

Doedicurus: a giant armadillo with a club tail.

Aepyornis maximus (Elephant Bird): the giant flightless bird of Madagascar.

Sivatherium: an antler horned relative of the Giraffe.

Gigantopithecus: the largest prehistoric ape that ever lived.

Protarchaeopteryx: another small Chinese dinosaur that ate fruits and leaves not meat.

Metridiochoerus (Giant Warthog): a giant prehistoric warthog relative.

Any Extinct Giant Penguin (Filling the role of the Killer Penguin): Any species of giant penguin would do even if it’s not a killer.

Stokesosaurus: It was quite small, a jurassic tyrannosauriod, and it wore glasses while painting.

Short-faced Bear: a giant prehistoric ice age bear to add to the park.

What are your thoughts and opinions?

Hmm, ok there's a lot to dissect here. I'll organize them into tiers according to my very biased opinion:

Will 99% be included in the game:

  • Gallimimus

Must-haves:

  • Plesiosaurus
  • Dodo
  • Dimetrodon
  • Megatherium
  • Thylacine
  • Carnotaurus
  • Doedicurus
  • Deinosuchus
  • Utahraptor
  • Gigantopityecus
  • Kentrosaurus

Would be amazing:

  • Diprotodon
  • American mastodon
  • Macrauchenia
  • Herrerasaurus
  • Sivatherium
  • Dwarf Sicilian elephant
  • Aepyornis
  • Deinonychus (would be a bit lower if Utahraptor makes it in)

Good ideas:

  • Quagga
  • Caudipteryx
  • Meiolania
  • Camptosaurus
  • Short-faced bear (would need to be made quite different from the cave bear to stand out more)

Ok:

  • Eucladoceros (prefer Megaloceros myself)
  • Warrah
  • Bluebuck
  • Protarcheopteryx
  • Stokesosaurus (I’d prefer the once-planned Guanlong myself)

Meh:

  • Giant camel
  • Giant warthog

As for the giant killer penguin… if it was something like Waimanu, it would be in “good ideas”; I’d rather have Hesperornis fit that role.

Great Opinion what do you think the next update will be after Update 12?

Update 13 will be coming in mid-December and will be the last update for this year. It will include:
  • Ursus spelaeus (Cave Bear)
  • New Unknown Mammal
  • Building Toolbox Overhaul
  • Park Rating Progression Improvements
  • New Foliage and Music

Since Nigel Marven is on this, the game might be including animals that were featured on Prehistoric Park and the Cave Bear is one of those animals.

Could be..
I'm thinking as well the animals for the next update might be Winter/Holiday related, considering its release date. Hoping for Megaloceras.

As a side note, I did find it weird that the new rustic decor had a bear statue, I felt it should have been an extinct animal and apparently it was!

May I suggest you do these tier lists I made a while back; I think you'd quite enjoy them! Most of the animals you've mentioned are there
(I may add those that are missing myself later on, but you're also free to do that :D

Prehistoric Kingdom is a great game and all, and more animals are being added to the game gradually. Just like I drew the PKC (Prehistoric Kingdom Candidates) some years ago, I decided to create tier list templates for everyone who wants to arrange which animals they would or wouldn’t want to have included!

Complete list (200 animals):
Create a Prehistoric Kingdom animal wish list Tier List

Palaeozoic list:

Dinosaur list (including Mesozoic birds):

Its confirmed Megaloceros will be released alongside the Cave Bear as part of update 13 in December. No animals will be added in update 14 but Gallimimus and Allosaurus will be joining the roster as part of updates 15 and 16 respectively.

My only complaint is that Pachycephalosaurus is not included on the roster, with only Prenocephale representing the Pachycephalosaur group which to me is an extremely poor decision as Pachycephalosaurus should be in the top ten animals to include by default

Agreed. And what about Stegosaurus?! It's one of the ABC dinosaurs, come on now! It should have been there from the start IMO...

Yes Stegosaurus should've been one of the first creatures added, the good news is its been stated that Stegosaurus WILL be added to the game at some point, while Pachycephalosaurus has been scrapped completely.

My only hope is that gets added via DLC or something.

I hope that happens too, it's a shame that they scrapped so many animals that we all clamored for; Carnotaurus, Ceratosaurus and Megatherium got the axe too!

Solid lineup I'd say, though I'd love to have some non-dinosaur reptilians and a few more non-American mammals sprinkled in the roster.

I've noticed on the Trello roadmap, there's an image on update 14 of a UI layout with Allosaurus and Yi qi, which would be cool additions if they do get into the game!

It is a solid line-up but its one of those where I feel it misses the mark by just barely an inch, for example if I could change a few species on this roster

Prenocephale - Pachycephalosaurus
Torvosaurus - Dimetrodon
Yutyrannus - Kelenken
Bison latifrons - Doedicurus
Leaellynasaura - Eohippus

I feel like the same problem happened with Planet Zoo, it is a wonderful game with a huge roster but the few missing animals especially in the mini-exhibit department like no Chameleons or Geckos or King Cobra are so jarring.

Hmmm, so on one hand I do think that Pachycephalosaurus and Doedicurus are good replacements, but frankly I'd rather both sides were available; Leaellynnasaurus, Yutyrannus and Torvosaurus are amazing dinosaurs.
