“Working” Animals
12 chickens (Rhode island reds and some other species)

Former Pets (deceased):
Beagle - Mannie (May 2005-August 2022), Mama (unknown)
Mutt - Sid (unknown again)
Various goldfish and betta
Flora (unknown breed of cat) ran away May 2013
Updated List
Two Pets
(M) Chihuahua 'Georgie'
(M) Cat (breed unknown) 'Frankie'

All but two chickens were moved due to the fact their food supply brought us an extensive rat infestation. Last two chickens were dubbed 'Britney' and 'Linda' by my sisters, with the former being slightly crippled and the latter being totally blind. Former met her end in protecting the latter from a raccoon, while the latter likely succumbed to starvation, given her lack of vision and struggle to eat.
The older cat, 'Tigger,' passed away this past Christmas at the age of 16, at roughly 1:30am according to my parents, due to natural causes associated with old age. And the other animals mentioned in my first post remain the same.

I added a couple new salamander species recently:

Arboreal salamander Aneides lugubris
Portuguese fire salamander Salamandra salamandra ssp. gallaica

They are both captive bred juveniles.

Plum-headed parakeet has molted into his second coat of feathers; the third set will bring the vibrant violet colored head plumage, but that will take place more than a year from now. He has responded well to training (was not used to handling at first) though this is a skittish species by nature. I find him very gentle and compatible with other birds.
