Why is my post number incorrect?

I have noticed that in the past hour or two, my post count decreased by about 60 posts, but then I looked through my post history and did the math, and I have come to a conclusion none of my posts were really deleted. Does anyone know why my post counter is different?

I tweaked some settings for the site - there are certain forums where posts no longer count towards your total post count.

The quizzes / competitions / games forum in particular - we get some high volumes of low/no value posts in there which shouldn't really be counted towards totals because it is not reflective of actual contribution to the site.

Simon has adjusted the way postcounts are calculated, with posts in the "Games" forum no longer counted; among other things this should help to prevent new members negating the various limitations on photo uploads by spamming comments, and will also reflect forum contributions more accurately.

Do the likes on those posts remain though on the counter?

There is a reason why I don't show the "users with the most likes" in the Members lists. Some members place far too much importance on how many likes they get and like farming has been a problem in the past.

That being said, you can see a complete history of likes you've received here: https://www.zoochat.com/community/account/likes

You'll likely find that likes are unaffected by changes made to post counts.

Based on the fact that in the past few days, my likes received counter has decreased by 50 or so likes, I am assuming they are from the same forums as the ones where posts no longer count, am I right on that?

No idea. Could just be that posts you made that received likes were deleted?

I'm pretty sure there's no option which allows me to restrict likes from counting - likes are likes.

However, the fact that you've noticed that your like count has decreased and care about it - kind of indicates to me that you're placing far too much importance on it. Which is one reason why I might want to implement something to restrict likes.

Did something else change very recently regarding the post count? Seems like mine suddenly jumped back up again by over 30 posts at some point in the last few days. But I'm not sure where those added posts are coming from.

Thanks for that information, I was not aware of that. However, it doesn't appear I have ever posted in those categories so that would not seem to explain my recent post increase.

ZooChat Challenges were moved out of the Quizzes & Games forum into their own forum, so if you've ever participated in one of the challenges, that would explain the increase in post count.
