Some small updates from Winged Sactuary:

The Rufous Hornbill has been moved to the aviary that housed the Trumpeter Hornbills.

The Trumpeter Hornbills have moved to the aviary that housed the Hooded Vultures. The Vultures are now off show.

The former Rufous Hornbill aviary will house Black-casqued Hornbills.

The Malay Crested Firebacks have been moved from the White-crowned Hornbill aviary to the Bali Myna aviary.

The King BoP sign has been placed back at its original aviary. The BoP was moved out temporarily to fix a rodent problem in the aviary.

If I heard correctly, the former Lesser BoP aviary is being remodeled to house the Bald Ibises from Heart of Africa.

The male Black-casqued Hornbill killed the Trumpeter Hornbill at HOA, hence the move of the pair to Winged Sanctuary.

That's very unfortunate. The mix of hornbills at Heart of Africa seemed to be doing well.

It was to be expected that so many hornbills would not get along well. And the departure of casqued hornbills should be gratifying for some small birds, because casqued hornbills could have killed about 30 bird species in HoA

I beg to differ as well (as @Paul.Haerle observed above)! Not a very good move on the part of the curatorial managers ... Hornbill pairs do not mix well at all and certainly with these and the small area competition for territory and food....

1. Lory Loft contains some Chinese Bamboo Partridge, as well as Common? Hill Myna and an unidentified Hornbill.
2. There is now one Copper Pheasant in Songs of the Forest.
