Dude, you seriously need to stop double posting in this thread - this has been asked of you many times from several members. Double posting is just clogging up this thread and at this point it is really annoying when we're expecting news or some new updates from the zoo and we just see a duplicate post.
...and double-posting in consecutive posts only 52 minutes apart marks an escalation, which is even spammier than before.

Respectfully, what are you on about? People post updates from the zoo frequently and a publicly viewable document listing the latest transfers, births and deaths is released every month -- that's a lot more than most zoos. Just because there isn't a new piece of news everyday does not mean you should post irrelevant information or repeat things others have already said. It does nothing but clutter up the thread.
Mostly Renovations and it will be done by Next Year.

2 dead Yellow-Footed Rock Wallabies is not good news. How is the population holding up these days?
Looks like we indeed will have a recommended breeding pair of jaguars at the zoo, hopefully we get cubs that are sorely needed for the SSP! Things didn’t go smoothly with Johar and Stewie(now known as Lucha at Oakland Zoo). I’m just happy to see more jaguars

Today I visited the L.A. Zoo for the first time since June and have a few noteworthy items.
- Although the upper aviary is still closed, the lower aviary is open with many of the birds formerly residing in the upper aviary now moved there. The birds I saw today were the African spoonbills, sacred ibis, Von der Decken's hornbill, black-collared starling, galah (rose-breasted cockatoo), and red-billed blue magpie. Missing were the trumpeter swans and West African black-crowned crane, which sadly passed away last month per the transaction report just posted.
- The upcoming Swan Lake exhibit still has a construction fence around it and the pond is drained.
- A Cape vulture was visible behind the jaguar habitat (the first time I've ever seen it!) so the vultures still haven't been moved to the upcoming exhibit in the Africa section.
- By a stroke of good luck, I was able to view a California condor in the off-exhibit area behind the zoo maintenance yard through binoculars (also my first sighting of this species!).
- The carousel is now open after having been closed for many months.
- The spotted paca now on view in the South America roundhouse with the crested caracara is a major improvement from the very limited viewing in the Rainforest of the Americas.
- The Animals Aglow light sculpture displays are very nicely designed and fun to see even in the daytime. Every year the presentation is different and there is more of an emphasis this year on marine life and pollinators along with a greater Northwoods-style throughout the zoo.
Not well. I know Palm Desert has done some breeding recently but I've read a lot of the small wallaby populations are becoming too small to manage genetics effectively.

Does the zoo have actually have 2 tassies bts? I thought they had to stay at Toledo for 3 months before their transfer.

I spoke with a keeper in LA on Sunday and the Tasmanian devils are still overseas. They should be quarantined in LA once they eventually arrive in the US.

"Stewie" was only a donor name in LA. When he originally arrived in LA from the Philadelphia Zoo, he was introduced with his original name Lucha and lived in the snow leopard exhibit (which was vacant at the time) with Maya, who came from the Palm Beach Zoo. It was only after both jaguars moved to the new jaguar exhibit in the Rainforest of the Americas that they were given the donor names of "Stewie" and "Johar".
I attended the bird show in LA on Sunday and the host of the show mentioned that some cape vultures have already been moved to the new Cape Vulture Aviary, which should be opening in weeks. No specific date was mentioned for the opening. The Sunday bird show included 2 cape vultures named Ida and Louise.
Amazing spotting on the condor, could you share more details about where in the zoo the maintenance yard is?
The cape vulture exhibit has always been there, but hard to see with the foliage + color of the birds unless they move! Gave me a good scare the first time I saw one take flight
