Perth Zoo Perth Zoo News 2025

Sounds like Monday is the day
Yeah it does I have already plan to go on Monday to Perth zoo with my family.

Looking at the route, it’s saying 29 hours. We can probably add on another four hours or so to account for stops and the truck travelling at slightly slower speeds; though I’ll note Zoos Victoria advised their elephants will be travelling at close to full speed on the highway as it’s more conductive to calming the elephants.

There’s a 2.5 hour time difference between Perth and Monarto, so assuming Permai departs early morning, she could arrive in the afternoon of the following day (potentially Tuesday).

ended up going today no frogs in the noc house any more, there are some in the building by wetlands.
5 splendid tree frogs
7 green treefrogs (only saw 3)
4 white lipped tree frog (only saw 3)

what i saw in the noc house was

tawny frogmouth
bilby
Western ringtail possum
Margaret river hairy marron
Dibbler
cane toad
Ghost bat
Rough scaled python
Jungle Carpet Python
Slow loriss
Savannah glider
Black footed tree rat
Hide beetle

Owlet-nightjar Aegotheles cristatus
Queensland whistling/bird-eating tarantula Selenocosmia crassipes

still has afterall:
Jungle carpet python Morelia spilota cheynei
Margaret River hairy marron Cherax tenuimanus
White-lipped tree frog Litoria infrafrenata

now has:
Hide beetle Dermestes maculatus
Monteith's leaf insect Phyllium monteithi

and actually has:
Savannah/Savanna glider Petaurus ariel
not Sugar glider Petaurus breviceps

cool so noc' house at the moment display-keeps:

So Perth zoos curator said they’ll be judging the move day on temperature. Perths forecast is Sunday: 30, Monday: 32, then climbs back up into the 40’s into the week.

So it’s either Sunday/Monday or it’s not happening. Thankfully it’ll only take just over 29 hours for her to make the trip if they go on Mondays.

I compared the temp in adealide tues/wed/thur are all maxing at 24 , so monday would be good temp wise getter there to.

I’m just waiting to hear that Permai has left Perth.
I think we’ll hear tomorrow morning jaiden, no need to stay up late tonight :)
From the information we have to hand, my expectation is an announcement within Perth Zoo’s business hours that Permai left early that morning. We can definitely all get some sleep, safe in the knowledge we won’t be missing anything. :)
