bad mouthing DAK and Busch Gardens

So my point is why rank them in the same category if they are completely different, only because they both hold animals?

Quick response: They are "different", but NOT "completely different". I've seen similar ride-tours to DAK's Kilamanjaro Safari -- SDWAP's "Journey Into Africa", Guadalajara (Mexico)'s "Safari Africa", and even the monorail tours in Dallas and the Bronx are somewhat similar, taking visitors in among the wild animals.

And yes, Disney is unsurpassed in their efforts to build a complete African (or Asian) environment, which their animal exhibits are a part of. But this is also not "completely different" from what other zoos are doing. Again, SDWAP's "Nairobi Village" is quite similar, and both Kansas City and Binder Park (Michigan) have built lower-budget versions of DAK's African village. Jacksonville's "Range of the Jaguar" is a South American version of this, while Memphis has a Chinese version.

Rather than "completely different", I'd say that Disney's exhibits are "more extensive" in their scope.

Like ANyhuis already mentioned the debate would go on, and one thing i have learn in my short time in this forum, there is no point in debating the Blackrhino, he is indeed a rhino and jk, but i love it how i allways give them this detail explanations, and to an extend agree with his points, as i tried to show him the other side of the fence, and 99.9% of the time i will get an answer like:

Congo is the best one, most realistic

The safari in point blue is superior

The bird on the left is bigger than the bird on the right

Blackrhino i love the debate but sometimes you take the fun out making it interesting, and i can't debate ANyhuis is makes too much sense.:)

Thank you Allen!,

and Minaturezoo954, I am not doubting DAK as a great facility. It by far and away has some of the best animal exhibits on the planet. You seem to be a little bit attached to your opinions on DAK yourself, and just because it has way more money than almost every zoo doesn't mean it will have the best of everything.

ANyhuis,

I agree with pretty much everything you have stated, my feelings exactly, both zoos and theme parks have crossed the invisible fronteir into eachother, and as the clock moves on, it will only become more common.

Most of this exhibits you have mentioned still have one thing in common their place of residence has the word zoo in its official description.

I guess that could be a way to do it, what do you think "Zoos" and everything else, and the Zoos would have to be officially named Zoos or Zoological parks, Zoological gardens, Zoo worlds, something to that effect to be considered Traditional Zoos, as a matter of fact this could be fun stay tunned for my two unofficial lists of Top 10 Zoos and Top 10 parks that deal with wild animals, i read somewhere very recently that Lion Country Safari was ranked as the #3 Zoo in North America, if i visited this country from lets say Germany for the first time, and visited this park, and then found out it was their number #3 Zoo, i would probably never visit another zoo in North America.

ANyhuis,

thank you, i get it about Blackrhino, he is a lot of fun, 50% of my debates in this forum have been with him, i will have more than patience with him, and for the record Blackrhino, i do not mind that you are so hard headed, i'm as well, and you are nothing close to an idiot, but you know that.......my only little thing with you, is that when you tell me your way of looking at things, if possible give me a little more of information so i have something to read and debate, i understand that sometimes time is not enough........i have my computer in front of a big work station where i built different things for my zoo, right now i'm working on some very large artisan clay moats for the tigers, i went collecting real banyan roots so i can place them hanging from the moats down, much like Tiger River in San Diego.
