(pretty much all Tamarins and Marmosets except the ones listed as CITES II above are CITES I)
(Most Monkeys listed like Mandrills discussed before are CITES I)
these Monkeys are CITES II classified:
Olive colobus
Mona monkeys
Lesser-spotted guenons
Vervets
King colobus
Patas monkeys
Barbary macaques (Herpes B virus scare though)
Red colobus
Nilgiri langurs
White-throated capuchins
(interestingly Tufted capuchins, White-fronted capuchins, B+W colobus monkes, De Brazza's guenons, Francois langurs, Dusky langurs, {these latter two would be CITES I am sure but am sure} and Hamadryas baboons or any baboons or other macaques are listed, just Drills and Mandrills as CITES I and a few of the mangabeys as CITES I)
can list more of the Primates etc on another post specifically if anyone wants)
of Bears:
Polar Bears CITES II
Brown Bears (Cites says populations from Bhutan, China, Mexico and Mongolia are CITES I, all other populations are CITES II)
American Black Bear CITES II
all other Bears: Giant Pandas, Asian Black Bears, Sloth Bears, Sun Bears and Spectacled/Andean Bears are CITES I
of Felids:
African Lions CITES II
Asian Lions CITES I
Tigers CITES I
Jaguars CITES I
Leopards CITES I
Snow Leopard CITES I
Cheetahs CITES I
Puma/Cougar/Mountain Lions (although states that the general
P.concolor azteca sbsp is CITES II, the Florida Puma/Florida Panther, Central American Puma, Eastern Puma all listed as CITES I as are the
P.concolor mayensis and
P.concolor missoulensis which these latter two have apparently been reclassified 'merged ' with
P.c' azteca so essentially believe they all can pretty much be classified at CITES I now I think. Mute point anyway probably as apparently any imported individuals would need to of been neutered prior to import and the region has lost interest in them).
will list the other Felids in quicker sumamry but will mention 4 species seperately afterwards for dual CITES classificatios.
so other CITES I classified Felid species are:
Andean mountain cat, Asian golden cat, Black-footed cat, Clouded leopard, Flat-headed cat, Geoffroy’s cat, Iberian lynx, Marbled cat, Margay, Ocelot & Oncilla
CITES II classified Felid species are: African wid cat (two subspecies mentioned in document: North African & Ethiopian), Bobcat, Eurasian lynx, Pampas cat, Sand cat & Serval
Caracals (Asian caracals are CITES I and African caracals are CITES II)
Jaguarundi (North American & Central American are CITES I and South American are CITES II)
Leopard cats (individuals from Bangladesh & India & Thailand are CITES I but all others are CITES II)
Rusty-spotted cats (individuals from India are CITES I, all others which I know includes Sri Lanka are CITES II)
(No mention of some other cat species like African golden cats, Canadian lynxes or Pallas cats for examples).
Canids
Red foxes (feral pest in Australia), Bengal foxes and Golden jackals are CITES III
Grey wolves (except Indian subcontinent sbsp), Maned wolves, Dholes, Culpeos, Darwin's fox, Crab-eating fox, Chico grey fox, Pampas fox, Fennec fox and Blanford's fox are all CITES II
