Yes, the reptile house closed late last year and isn't expected to reopen till sometime in Spring. and exact date for reopening has not yet been givenPerhaps I'm missing something, but the herpetarium doesn't seem to be on the current zoo map. Is it currently undergoing renovations or something?
It appears the herpetarium is back on the map, but I couldn't find any information on the zoo's socials whether it is still closed. Does anyone have any information on its current status?
Mentioned on the zoo's Facebook page, he has been named "Makutu".
Doesn’t look too bad, but seriously, hopefully this'll be the last year for dinosaurs at the Dallas Zoo, a I don't hate dinosaurs, I just feel like the zoo relied on them too much and it's time for them to do a new seasonal exhibit like a walk-through kangaroo exhibit
I have a feeling that the Dallas Zoo might get a nocturnal exhibitI also heard that the former crocodile cove at the herpetarium will be replaced by a mixed species exhibit with birds and mammals including bats, it'll open on the 28th of April, and the butterfly exhibit will open in early April
Great breeding achievement. It is applaudable that over recent years more focus has been put into getting the African vulture species to breed (alongside some Eurasian ones... like cinereous vulture et cetera).A Rüppel’s Griffon Vulture has hatched at Dallas being the first in their history. The chick hatched on March 15 - reported on FB page.
