Wingham Wildlife Park Wingham Wildlife Park News 2025

After watching the most recent video on their YouTube channel for Women’s Day, I was quite surprised to see that the longest anyone had worked there was about 3 years with most being less than a year.
I am well aware that the park had a high staff turnover back in the day but I’m surprised to see this is still the case. I remember when I used to be in the industry and looking on BIAZA jobs that Wingham was constantly posting jobs. Does anyone know the causes of this? (Perhaps I’m jumping to conclusions)

Indeed - such a high turnover, especially for all of the staff must be quite unusual. Other collections of a small and medium size have some (many?) very long-standing staff.

Here’s a link to staff reviews from the job search website Indeed:

Sounds like poor management and poor welfare

Those reviews are appalling! Admittedly they may have multiple axes to grind, but it does indicate there are major issues there.

Is that the guy who used to post on here?

Latter comment probably refers to Hamerton Zoo I think.

The answer is simply shockingly poor management from the top of the chain, micro management is rife, keepers are not trusted, even to the point of not being allowed their phones on them which I have never seen in any other zoo before and their opinions doesn’t matter even if they have the relevant experience or knowledge. Moral was very low and probably still is, a very negative environment, this wasn’t too long ago either. The one and only win was they paid slightly more than most other collections.
