Kiango just turned 4 the other day(February 21st) so he could probably now be considered 'safe' to run with Banjoko- with his female supporter Nemsi of course. But maybe they will carry on keeping them with BaoBao for a while yet as he obviously needs some form of company though that could just be Mintha perhaps. The problem might be that if they leave it too long Banjoko might not accept him when he is an older juvenile. Without more insight into the dynamics there, I can't speculate really on what the future holds or why Mandji has moved at this time. But it could be simply that they want a better display with more gorillas in the group on the main island for the upcoming season. The other group are rather tucked away on a smaller island at the back and until now it was the bigger group.

It would make sense if it was for display purposes - Mandji would have been the obvious choice for switching to the other group.

Considering both are now older, I guess they could possibly try to run Bao Bao and Mintha as a duo long term. Are they still trying to breed from Bao Bao? Despite his age, he is incredibly genetically valuable.

Even more so, I think we can guarantee his son, Kiango will receive future breeding application.

I think maybe Bao Bao will end up with just Mintha as a companion and that Nemsi and Kiango will join the others sooner or later. Then, if Mintha outlives BaoBao, she would move over too. I guess they may still be hopeful of getting a baby from BaoBao/Nemsi but do not know for sure. Kiango is almost certainly earmarked as a future breeding male I'd think.

If they hope BaoBao getting a second or third offspring, in that case bring in Chaam.
Time is in his disadvantage, as well other criteria.

I don't think so. When the new silverback Banjoko was announced, they mentioned that Bao Bao was ‘retiring’ due to his age and health problems. I have read once that his interest in the females was minimal. Almost all the initiative to breed came from the females. When it was discovered that Gyasi was pregnant by Bao Bao, it was a big surprise to the caretakers too.

A couple of things I spotted but don't know if you can change them.

Apenheul. Young male Jabari is an 'N'.
Bristol have an additional young male 'Juni' -Gorillasland don't list him for some reason though he appears under Touni's offspring.

Thanks, unfortunately I can't edit the post now due to the time limit but I'll note these down for next time.
 
In preparation for a new enclosure in 2031, changes will start to take place in Zoo Zurich's gorilla group in the near future. The group currently consists of one male and three females. In this composition, the group cannot expand further. Therefore, a beginning is being made to build a breeding group suitable for the future.

The 47-year-old silverback N'Gola has been suffering from various health problems for some time. This has had an increasing impact on his well-being but also on his dominance in the group. As a result, clashes between the three females are increasing, which also reduces their quality of life and threatens to break up the group. In addition, with 34 offspring, N'Gola's genes are strongly represented in the EEP. All these reasons combined have led the zoo, in consultation with the EEP, to decide to euthanise N'Gola in the near future and bring 17-year-old silverback Bwana from Warsaw Zoo to Zurich in exchange.

At the same time, two of the females will also leave Zoo Zurich. 17-year-old Mary will move to Saarbrücken Zoo and 12-year-old Mahiri will move to Zoo Wuppertal. The third female, 17-year-old Haiba, will stay in Zurich as part of the new breeding group. This group will further be joined by 9-year-old female Virunguita from Barcelona, 8-year-old female Ivindo from Vallée des Singes and 12-year-old female Mayumi from Saarbrücken.

They are hardly adolescent, at nearly 15 & 12 they are more full adults. This move partly explains the long delay in moving them from Blackpool as the plans for the move have been in the pipeline for a couple of years now according to their press releases.
 
As noted by me in the Madrid zoo thread, Malabo (the bachellor gorilla) has died. The zoo doesn't plan to have another male to come at the zoo and it seems as the groups is not having any problems with the abscence of a bachellor male.

He died 8th of November of last year. And he wasn't a bachelor male - he was the zoo's silverback.

I'm also quite doubtful they don't have any plans to acquire another one in the near future, considering they still have three prime aged breeding females.

They don't have plans to do so from the fear that the new male won't accept the young son of Malabo, Kibo. Once Kibo grows independent they'll surely try to acquire a male, but until then, there's no current plans. Thanks for confirming the date, the keeper said the death was recent, but never told me when it happened. Error on my part.
Edit: Also, the main concern for the keepers was that the group would start fighting with eachother, but as a keepers told me, a female (don't remember the name now) is the one that has "taken" the place of Malabo and it's keeping order at the group.

Malobo died of a malignant tumour apparently. The baby Kibo (Kukena x Malabo) is only just over three years old so they will most likely have to wait a year or two before introducing a new silverback. This is quite a common problem nowadays, a male dying and leaving a young baby in the group which for safety concerns delays the aquisition of a fresh male.

That's usually the case once a silverback passes - however it can at times present issues amongst the girls who tend to fight and bicker more often without the presence of a silverback. In a normal functioning troop, the silverback is the one who will maintain order within the group.

As @Pertinax said, Kibo's still young so they'll likely have to wait another few years until they're confident he won't be at risk during introductions.
