There are now three Pygmy Hippos at Shamba Safari. Not sure when they arrived or where they came from.
Where is that? That tropical ungulate center place in Florida?0.1 Banana is leaving Brookfield Zoo for the AZA zoo with the largest pygmy Hippo herd in North America.

CCTU is not AZA-accredited. I'm not sure which AZA facility has the most pygmies, and most (if not all) of the holders of larger herds of Pygmy Hippos are non-AZA.Where is that? That tropical ungulate center place in Florida?

After evaluating most facilities it seems like majority that could indeed deemed 'large holders' are all non AZA as you say. All of the AZA holders only have handful, most of which being breeding pairs plus offspring, so it's difficult to determine as there isn't a standout facility.CCTU is not AZA-accredited. Not 100% sure but I suspect Violet's most likely location is the Center for the Conservation of Tropical Ungulates in Florida, due to their massive herd size. However, Metro Richmond isn't AZA, so there is a chance she could have moved to some other facility, but she appears to be out of the AZA, and CCTU is probably where she is now, unless she has since passed away.I found this Washington Post article about Petunia's birth, which says Violet was moved a year after her birth "to another facility" - does anyone know where Violet was moved?

That post is from May 6, 2022, though, so it's possible she could've moved after that.
