North America Amur Leopard Population

Edgar was to go to Toledo Zoological Gardens due to a breeding recommendation matching him with 2year old female Nyura at some point over the next few years. I seriously hope this is an AI recommendation as Edgar, while genetically very valuable, has proven a very aggressive cat and potentially dangerous for the female.
Given Edgar killed his mate at Erie, and I was told he had trouble with the Snow Leopards he rotated with, I hope for her sake too that it's an AI plan

Does anyone know the origin of the Amur leopard “Ladybug” from Catoctin Wildlife Preserve in Maryland? I found an old post when she arrived in 2012 and went by the name “Lady Asja” (Log in to Facebook). In 2016 she moved to the Tallahassee Museum when she was 5 years old during the duration of her exhibit renovation. (World's rarest leopard finds shelter in Tallahassee) She has since been presented with the name “Ladybug” and I believe she’s on the older side.

She was born on June 29, 2010 at Tanganyika Wildlife Park to sire Kosma and dam Lischinka.

Okha, who resided at the Minnesota Zoo, passed away some time ago now.

Does anyone know if Katya, who moved to Great Cats World Park (Cave Junction, Oregon) in 2009, is still around?

On November 17, 2014 Cheyenne Mountain Zoological Park posted a memorial post on FB saying their Leopard Katia died of renal failure at 20 which would not be consistent with the Katya you mentioned (born 10/06/06) however in earlier posts from Cheyenne they list this same Leopard Katia as being born October 2006 so I have to think this is the same Leopard. They also say she mothered 11 cubs but I am only finding support for only one in the studbook, a female named Raina born 8/7/11 at Great Cats of the World in Oregon.

That is a different Katia who was born in Minnesota in 1994.

Actually, this is even more confusing, there was a Leopard at Cheyenne named Katia that is the mother of 11 cubs but she was born in 1994. So this is consistent with the post about a 20 year old dying in 2014. What are the odds that 2 female Leopards (Katya and Katia) end up at the same location? This means there is not really any confirmation on whether or not Katya is still at Cheyenne. Sorry

The Amur Leopard studbook from 2012 actually lists four females of the same names;

Katia - born 1994 at Minnesota. Resided at Cheyenne.

Katia - born 1997 at Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Died there 2010.

Katya - born 2000 at Pittsburgh. Resided at Jacksonville.

Katya - born 2006 at Audubon. Resides at Cave Junction.

Ironically the Katya in question spent some time at both Minnesota and Rosamond Gifford before her transfer to Oregon. Would have been confusing for Rosamond Gifford to have a Katia and a Katya!

You are referring to two different individuals.

Well, they are different individuals, but not different individuals named Katia. The cat named Katia you are referring to was born at the Minnesota Zoo in 1994. Katya was born at the Audubon Zoo in October of 2006; she moved to the Minnesota Zoo a little more than a year later, then in 2009 to the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound in Rosamond, California, then to Cave Junction in Oregon later that year.

Was Katya transferred to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo from Cave Junction sometime after the 2012 studbook was published?

The "Katya in question" never lived at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. She lived at the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound in Rosamond, California. You're misreading that studbook.

Is she still living in Cave Junction, was she transferred to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo or somewhere else, or has she passed away?
