Nasu animal kingdom

The park has welcomed its 10 millionth visitor since the park first opened in 1998. The visitor was gifted a red panda feeding experience.
This is the first time I’ve heard of such a thing. I wonder if there are any examples of other zoos treating visitor milestone customers differently.

Zoo and Botanical garden Plzeň made a little girl do the christening of a litter of Cuvier's caimans in 2006, during their 80th anniversary: I forgot which number she was and I am unable to check it again.

This is very common in Czech zoos - because it gets often picked-up by local media thus it brings free additional media attention for the zoo. Visitors number xy (rounded numbers like half a million etc. in a given year) would be welcomed at the zoo gate by staff members (sometime by zoo director in person) and would get a bunch of presents and their pics, names and short interview gets published.

Example - here Prague zoo published their millionth visitor of year 2024. It was a family of 4, children got stuffed animals, parents got meet-and-feed bongo antelope experience, plus some animal-themed calendars, books etc.

One of the cats “Sago” will be sent to Okinawa. I am not sure what has happened to the other individual.

Nasu will be recieving 1.0 Kario and 0.1 Hitoe from Higashiyama zoo. The cats are born tbis gear but are from different litters.
The cats who were put on display inside the forest of conservation in February will have their outdoor display opened starting from April 17.

There is a mention of a Hobb’s House along with a Taiyo and Kaiyo Residences mentioned in the tweet and the replies. Do you have any ideas what they are referring to?
In this tweet and its replies, it’s mentioned that two exhibits at Penguin Village have had different fates. One was used for Taiyo and Kaiyo, two beavers that used to live there (both now deceased), and the other was used by Hobbs, another beaver who has since moved to Kasumigaura. The former has already been dismantled, while the latter is still standing.

Apparently, the unused area in the Penguin Village is being worked on.

I think we now know what will happen to this area…

The new area, named Beaver Swamp, will be a 1200 meter square exhibit which plans to recreate a beaver dam. In addition to beavers the striped skunks and North American porcupines will also be exhibited in this new area. Judging from the plans, they won’t be mixed, (which is a wasted opportunity if you ask me).

the exhibit is set to open in July 17.

This does beg the question what will happen to the old enclosures in wolf hills, beaver creek, and the porcupine display?

Probably to house smaller North American animals like woodchucks or ground squirrels.
