Bioparc Valencia Bioparc Valencia News

For me, the 2nd phase must open very few weeks after the 1st phase opening. Due the works for that 2nd phase, are running.

Birth news:
- Two female Northern warthogs (Phacochoerus africanus africanus) have been born at the Bioparc! The female and newborns will be offshow for a while until they get properly adapted to their new surroundings, and the male will be visible to guests. The warthogs born at the park in 2023 were transferred to another zoo.

Nacen en BIOPARC Valencia dos facóqueros, el conocido “Pumba”

Two year old Grevys Zebra mares - Lilani and Amera are being transferred across from Zoo Krefeld.
I read Grevy's zebra and Bioparc in the same sentence and my heart almost skipped a beat  Not upset that it's mountain zebras, though, I have yet to see them at any zoo, so yet another reason to visit Bioparc ASAP. Still not out of hope for Grevy's, though, could be brought in for the upcoming expansion, right?

It does fit in with the East African theme they are going for, but I don't see Valencia as a park interested in keeping two different zebra species simultaneously, but who knows!

The future ampliation area not be for middle (like zebras) or big mammals. So, only one zebra Species: mountain right now, and in the future, in the dry savannah.
That supposition it's not 100% sure, but i think my idea it's correct.

Sorry, but does anyone know what animals (and how many) are currently held in the “Riparian Forest” enclosure? I’ve always been amazed at this multispecies enclosure and thought i’d ask. I presume that there are still the 8 drills in the enclosure, unless anything has changed since September?

I don't know the exact number; I'm listing the number I saw the last time I went. I may have missed some, or I may have counted some twice.

In that enclousure there are:
- Dwarf guenon (Miopithecus ogouensis) - 3 Animals
- Drill (Mandrillus leucophaeus) - 7 Animals (2.5)
- Sitatunga (Tragelaphus spekii) - 6 Animals (1.5)
- Pygmy Hippopotamus (Choeropsis liberiensis) - 1 Animal (0.1)
- Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiacus) - 3 Animals
