Updates from visit 4/26/2025:
-Construction on Ed Center has most of the main parking lot blocked off and terraforming has begun stretching from old Aoudad site to front entrance in an L shape. Nearly all trees cut down
-Binturong habitat has completely been demolished (including backstage building). Signs are up mentioning they will be doing refurbishments but from the looks it's more likely it'll be a completely new exhibit design similar to the red panda/gibbon transformations.
-Penguin building looks to be completed but pool is still empty.
-Pronghorn exhibit has bird perches set up inside for native birds (likely the wild Bald Eagles) with bushes surrounding them so the perches will be uninterrupted by the turkeys/pronghorn.
-Raven from Big Backyard has been moved to front African aviary by Zebras while the African birds are away until weather is warmer
-Emerald Swifts are now on exhibit after being teased last year in Faces of the Rainforest (saw two individuals)
-Many trees between Bison and lake (near the giraffe exhibit) have been cut down.

In exciting news though, the zoo will be obtaining African Giant Pouched Rats for World of Adaptations. Signage is up near the indoor viewing for River Otters indicating this is likely the place they will be housed. Exhibit will presumably be the final porthole window next to the Bali Myna/Rosella/Mousebird aviary.

Looking at the Zoo socials of shared stories and posts, the exhibit looks the same prior to the seal window renovation. Most of the costs must have been on filtration, housing and signage. Pool still has the haul out rock islands and an easement to enter the pool from the deck.

Piece of March 2025 News Not Mentioned:

To add on, the penguin building was refaced with siding and nest boxes built into wall with a dock looking area and rock bed for the 5 penguins.
