I'll have to arrange a visit some time this Winter so I can see Freya and Kara while they still have their Winter coats, I've only ever seem Arctic foxes in the Summer.

Another new animal has arrived, this time it's some baby Oustalet's chameleons, which according to Zootierliste are only held at three other UK collections, including Chester Zoo. The Facebook post doesn't specify how many or what genders they are:

Meet our newest arrivals: baby Oustalet's chameleons! These adorable chameleons are also known as Malagasy Giant Chameleons as they are the largest known species of chameleon - with males growing to a maximum length of 68cm (including their tail). | Lakeland Wildlife Oasis

The zoo have started construction on another new enclosure for a mystery animal, this time under the codename "Project: Fraggle Rock" of all things. Any guesses as to what "Fraggle Rock" could be a hint towards?

Would point me towards something called 'Henson's' something.

Or incredibly obscurely could be something from here: List of Species in Jim Henson's Animal Show

(To add: I have never been to this zoo, I just really like puzzles like this!)

On May 2nd, the zoo announced they acquired (3.0) Kirk's dik-diks named Cameron, Owen, and Rob which are now on exhibit.

From all trying to squeeze into a single nest so no one is left out of the cuddle puddle, to trailing after one another and play-fighting! Make sure you have a look for them on your next visit! | Lakeland Wildlife Oasis

Another teaser for the new "Fraggle Rock" exhibit has been posted, talking about the turfing and throwing in another Muppet reference with "it's not easy being green". The way this photo is taken it looks like the plant is meant to be a big clue, does anyone know what kind of plant this is?

Not a botanist, so I'm not certain, but I think it looks a bit like the leaves from some species of Eucalyptus. Eucalyptus cinerea looks a pretty good match to me.

Eucalyptus gunnii, the commonest species seen in the UK, grown commercially and often used by flower arrangers.

Another teaser for the new "Fraggle Rock" enclosure has been posted, the enclosure itself is almost done, and a total of four different species will be going in there.
They've also posted a clue as to what one of the animals will be, "What would happen if you mixed Kermit, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch?" Someone in the comments suggested a tawny frogmouth (frog, bird, grouchy looking), and I would love to see that.
