Going to Columbus on the 29th. Is there any chance North America is in soft open or preview mode by then?

Going to Columbus on the 29th. Is there any chance North America is in soft open or preview mode by then?
Very unlikely, I wouldn't count on it. It appears the zoo's priority is ensuring the region is complete and that the animals are settled in. The May opening date was extremely ambitious in the first place, the aviaries weren't even done by the original date.
As of now, no updates other than a "Late June" opening.

Went to the zoo today and here are some updates the kinda indoor Gibbon exhibit is closed and there is a big fence around it the Humboldt penguin pool is drained and a construction worker was fixing one of the glass panels now over to Asia quest there is only one golden mantle bat left and is 31 years old the other two have died i was told by a employee and in the same exhibit the great malayan chevrotain has also passed

Some North America Trek updates from my visit today!
It is looking stunning. I believe we will see an opening date very soon, with only the aviary looking unfinished. The Bald Eagles have returned and are on habitat, Otters haven't been moved yet but should be soon! The swans are MIA from their habitat by the moose so they may very well be in their new habitat as well. The bear habitat looks AMAZING and the waterfall I can already tell is going to be the perfect centerpiece. I'm very excited to see the rest of the region! Images will be uploaded to the gallery soon as well.

A few notes from todays visit.

  • Red crowed cranes are in the smaller exhibit across from the tigers. Gray wolves are still in the second exhibit.
  • Construction on North America Trek caused a detour around the area so I couldn't get any Construction photos.
  • Bear waterfall was testing.
  • Finally got to see the Adventure Cove and I have to say it's a mixed bag. The seals and sea lions are excellent, the outdoor exhibits are passable and the indoor are frankly pretty poor. The strangest/worst exhibits have to be a tie between the tank 10 ft. across a domestic duck was in and the marketplace set for a sand cat.
  • Humboldt Penguins are off exhibit for habitat maintenance.
  • Animatronic Cobra in front of Reptiles has been removed. There's now a frog statue in its place.
  • Grizzly Bears were a no show.

They frequently replace the cobra with this frog. It was in dinosaur island maybe 4-5+ years ago now! Not really sure why, but it's interesting to say the least.
My guess is it's for when the cobra is taken out for repairs. Although it did create a moment where my sisters thought I was crazy for thinking there was a cobra animatronic
