Good day gentlemen, because deer and antelope are one of my favorite types of zoo animals besides elephants, I thought I'd compile a list of my fav ungulates and see what any of the other user's favorites are. Almost all zoos keep some ungulates including giraffes zebras and certain types horned or antlered animals. I am partial to the Equids and Wild Cattle.

Generally though I enjoy zoos with a varied and healthy hoofstock collection.

I used to live in the Texas Hill Country…so I get what you’re saying about all the exotics you can see there. I particularly love the Blackbuck.

Miles Kington said, "Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad."

I've come up with my zoo version, "Knowledge is knowing a cetacean is an ungulate, wisdom is not putting it in a hoofstock yard."

I've always loved Greater Kudu as a boy because of the bulls impressively spiraled horns and the majestic grayish bown coats complete with paper thin white stripes on the sides of their backs. I've seen them in quite a few AZA zoos and Safari Parks, (Dallas Artis SanFran Fossil Rim Blijdorp and Whipsnade off the top of my head). Greater Kudu seem to be kept in AZA facilities in guess because they're easy to house and habituate to captivity easily.

Similar to @Jambi’s arrangement. Here before you is how I’ve listed many of my favorite ungulates (cetaceans included).

Odd-Toed Ungulates
  • Mountain Tapir
  • Mountain Zebra (specifically, Hartmann’s)
  • White Rhinoceros
  • Indian Rhinoceros

Even-Toed Ungulates; to name a few, I favor a lot of artiodactyls beyond the ones below :D
  • Okapi
  • Masai Giraffe
  • Giant Eland
  • Bongo
  • Lowland Anoa
  • Gaur
  • Common Hippopotamus
  • North Sulawesi Babirusa

Cetaceans
  • Orca
  • Northern Right Whale
