Hi everyone!

Just wanted to share a new website called ZooPortal, which was launched on June 23rd by a group of Japanese zoo enthusiasts.

It's still quite new, so there isn't a lot of content yet, but you can already find visit reports from zoos in Japan, as well as interviews with zookeepers—offering an inside look at the zoo scene in Japan.

Unfortunately, the site is currently only available in Japanese. But if you're curious about Japanese zoos or how people in Japan experience them, it's definitely worth checking out!

I'll also be posting some articles there in Japanese soon.

It does feel like a neat website. While it may not replace the gap Tai Motofumi’s Doubutsu no Kuni (not to be confused with the manga that goes by the same name) left since it became pay for view, it does look like a neat project which gives the vibe of a small magazine. My only criticism, which is honestly more of a nitpick, was the claim that quokkas can only be seen in Saitama Children’s Zoo outside of Australia in an article about local rarities.
