I recently read somewhere in one of the EEP 'guidelines' on the management of Guenons that De Brazza's has a larger and more stable population in EEP zoos than some of the other species. They don't appear to be so concerned about its status compared to some of the others (Hamlyn's, Diana etc which continue to dwindle). That's not to say this birth is not a valuable contribution- De Brazza is one of my personal favourites and again not seen in many places in the UK, where there seems only a small breeding pool.

Mammal wise the updated September 2024 plans indicate Anoa and Babirusa, I believe otters in a mixed exhibit with the orangutans may also be a possibility.

Is there still going to be an Indonesian songbird aviary as I saw that in a plan last year?
I believe the aviary was removed when the revised plans were submitted.

Of the non-primate variety it has Michie Tufted Deer, Sand lizards (rarity in the sense of presence in major UK collections with Chester being an exception and having an excellent enclosure for them), Gooey ornamental tarantula, Greyr spiny-tailed lizard, Desertas Wolf spider, Chapa bug-eyed frog, Chinese Crocodile lizard, Silvery-cheeked hornbill, Vasa parrot, Vicũna and Hazel dormice.

It had to be changed due to health and safety concerns for both visitors and orangutans. The main building had to be amended which meant the aviary had to be removed to make room.
Where actually is the new reptile house? I visited the other week and completely forgot about it

According to the planning documents, 'operational reasons', which translates into cost savings. The cover letter for the ammended planning application is pretty open about this:
Though, it does say some changes are due to feedback from zoo keepers, specifially around the main house for the Orang-utan.
Worth noting the new Otter enclosure, which was due to be partially within the Orang-utan enclosure has also been removed from the original plans.

My question was in my view only partially answered...! I did see in the planning document an amendment for addition of babirusas. I just never read nor register how and where anoa might be part of the new ball game. Where do people familiar with the planning documents say so that anoa are part of the deal.... I would appreciate to know where do you base this upon or source?

Same source as above. They're shown as the species for one of the additional enclosures being built as part of this.

Such a shame the otters have been removed from the plan. Was really looking forward to getting the Otters back.
Will they change at some point from South American lowland tapirs to Malayan tapir?

For now, no.
The issue is due to new legislations, Tapirs now require an indoor heated pool. Something Twycross cannot give to them.
