I agree that Diplocaulus especially was perfect for the game, it's a shame they aren't gonna have it. What I wonder though is what this semiaquatic mammal might be... Maybe Steropodon, as it's a good companion piece to Muttaburrasaurus and Leaellynnasaura?The developer has teased what the remaining 5 terrarium animals will be, listing them as;
A fuzzy Triassic Critter
An arboreal Lizard
2 funky dinosaurs
and a semi-aquatic mammal.
However as you might have noticed none of these animals are amphibians especially not Diplocaulus and Beelzebufo, two animals that honestly should've been added to the game the moment the Terrarium system was conceived.
In my mind this is a HUGE mistake on the developer's part and I understand that's my opinion but I sincerely will consider the game unplayable and unfinished until these two are added as well as Dimetrodon. Now some have speculated that more Terrarium animals will be added in Early Access especially seeing how after Update 16 the total number of terrarium species will be 11. I just don't believe it should even be a question if these three will be added to the game.
I humbly apologize for ranting.
According to what I've seen;I agree that Diplocaulus especially was perfect for the game, it's a shame they aren't gonna have it. What I wonder though is what this semiaquatic mammal might be... Maybe Steropodon, as it's a good companion piece to Muttaburrasaurus and Leaellynnasaura?
Also I hope the Triassic one is a pterosaur. Come on, we can have at least ONE... Can't we?
Ok, good additions... But personally I'd replace Jeholopterus with Pterodactylus or Anurognathus; I think it's fair we have at least ONE small but significant pterosaur in the base game.According to what I've seen;
The Triassic Critter is Thrinaxodon
The arboreal lizard is Icarosaurus because I saw a guy post a picture of Icarosaurus saying he wished it was planned and lead developer Mau responded "Planned? Try Included"
The semi-aquatic mammal might be Didelphodon which some researchers now believe lived a semi-aquatic lifestyle
That leaves the other herbivore and the piscivore as the two dinosaurs which makes me suspect they are Heterodontosaurus and Halszkaraptor respectively.
But like I said as long as Dimetrodon, Diplocaulus and Beelzebufo are not in the game I consider the game unfinished and un-releasable.
But if my predictions are correct then the 11 terrarium animals will consist of 3 ampibious, 4 terrestrial and 4 arboreal. I'd like to think more are coming before EA is over and they will fill in the blanks to give us an even 15 (5 in each category).
If that is the case then they should add Jeholopterus to arboreal
Diictodon to terrestrial
and Beelzebufo and Diplocaulus to aquatic.
That seems a little dramatic don't you think?However as you might have noticed none of these animals are amphibians especially not Diplocaulus and Beelzebufo, two animals that honestly should've been added to the game the moment the Terrarium system was conceived.
In my mind this is a HUGE mistake on the developer's part and I understand that's my opinion but I sincerely will consider the game unplayable and unfinished until these two are added as well as Dimetrodon.
This Game would be the first to release Breeding before Jurassic World: Evolution 3.Breeding has been moved up to Update 15 and Oviraptor originally planned for Update 19 will now be released in Update 15 alongside Gallimimus!
Yeah and they're adding it as a free update to COMPLETE the game, rather than sell two incomplete games at full price, and now another one that'll be even more expensive!This Game would be the first to release Breeding before Jurassic World: Evolution 3.
Could the added icons mean alternate species? Like if Allosaurus is added in Update 17 would the 4 carnivores be A. fragilis, europaeus, jimmadseni & anax?Also checking the roadmap
Update 17 now lists 4 carnivores, 2 herbivores and 2 Frugivores
Update 19 the former Update 20 now includes 3 carnivores, 7 herbivores and 2 insectivores
In Update 17, I'm certain the 4 carnivores are the 3 species of Allosaurus plus Saurophaganax.Could the added icons mean alternate species? Like if Allosaurus is added in Update 17 would the 4 carnivores be A. fragilis, europaeus, jimmadseni & anax?
As for update 19 we know the 3 carnivores are; Carnotaurus, Utahraptor and Kelenken while 3 of the herbivores are; Edmontonia, Megatherium and Doedicurus. I don't know what the other 4 new herbivores are, meanwhile I am hopeful the two insectivores might mean more Terrarium creatures like my beloved Beelzebufo.

I admit, it might not have been Mau, though I could've sworn I saw his username on the Discord. So perhaps my mind was playing tricks on me or someone had a eerily similar username. Though I will confirm there was a picture of Icarosaurus on the species suggestion page of discord and someone did reply "Planned try included" as for who wrote that reply, I guess I'll never know.While I wouldn't entirely discount Icarosaurus, that thing with Mau flat-out did not happen, so it's really up in the air. Thrinaxodon is also not 100% confirmed, but I'd count it decently likely.
As much as I like Diplocaulus in particular & would appreciate Beelzebufo, considering the game unplayable without them feels something like an overreaction?
Anyway, we are confirmed getting Permian rep that isn't Dimetrodon, which I believe is one of the first things eyeballed for post-full-release, and frankly I'd imagine that would make one of the unknown vivarium animals our first Permian rep, since I can't imagine they would add a full-exhibit Permian that isn't Dimetrodon.
Also, in regards to the speculated roster, it's somewhat hard to say- the devs are pretty fluid with when they add things, as seen from oviraptor & breeding being pushed up several updates, but recently the Trello seemingly splitting alt species into their own separate "upcoming species" card makes things difficult to say for sure- who's to say that things didn't get shuffled around, along with being split? I don't have it on hand, but Mau posted another blurred devside timeline/post-release plan, and they're visibly very different from the previous ones that people seem to have mostly cracked. Especially post-release- there's a lot more animals on there, with some color coding that I'm sure somebody must have figured out at some point.
I greatly enjoy speculating about this kind of thing, but the devs have been pretty tight-lipped about most roster-based things in the future, aside from outright confirming Utahraptor.
On an entirely unrelated note, I've been having an absolute blast with update 15, going through and updating my old parks with enrichment items and breeding mounds etc. Almost feels like playing ZT2 again. Really, really love the oviraptor, & the Galli is nice too. Can't wait for more enrichment items, too, the devs are really knocking it out of the park as of late.
