Terrible to lose an orca especially one as young as her (she was 11). Every orca lost at SeaWorld brings us closer to the end of an era. RIP and hearts out to her care team.

2.0 harbor seals Jerry and Cecil were transferred from SeaWorld San Antonio to the Riverbanks Zoo on April 28th, 2025.
Cecil was born in San Antonio on May 7th, 2023, while Jerry was born at SeaWorld Orlando on June 13th, 2015, arriving in San Antonio on January 9th, 2018.

On April 22nd, it was announced that the theme park transferred (1.1) radjah shelducks to El Paso Zoo in Texas.

Help us welcome our newest residents at the El Paso Zoo: Radjah Shelducks ! You can find them in the Lar Gibbons exhibit space next to the Orangutans in our zoo’s Asia 
Section. Our tapirs also use the moat in the Lar Gibbons exhibit, so if you are lucky 
, you may see all 3 species at once in one exhibit! This pair of 5 year-olds comes from @seaworldsanantonio Griselda, our Asia Section Collections Supervisor, relates that “Radjah shelducks are known for their sweet and carefree demeanor, often displaying the cutest and goofiest personalities. They tend to follow their keepers or exhibit mates closely, showcasing their endearing curiosity and friendly nature.” The radjah shelducks form long-term, bonded pairs, and they are usually encountered in lone pairs or small flocks. During the rainy season, the males commonly become very irritable, and have been observed attacking their mates. FACTS: They are mostly found in New Guinea and Australia, and also on some of The Moluccas (archipelago in the eastern part of Indonesia) They feed primarily on aquatic plants and invertebrates (mollusks, insects, worms) Their loud, theatrical calls play a role in their social interactions and help in the bonding process They use their own, self-supplied down feathers for nesting materials The clutches range from 6 to 12 eggs. Incubation period is about 30 days. They have striking plumage and are unique in their coloration, with pale pink bill and feet, a white head, neck, and breast, and a dark chestnut-colored collar/breast band #ElPasoZoo #SeaWorldSanAntonio #RadjahShelducks #ThingsToDoinElPaso | El Paso Zoo

On July 2nd, the theme park announced they acquired 60 southern rockhopper penguins from SeaWorld Orlando in Florida, which are now on display in Penguin Encounter.

SeaWorld’s Christmas killer whale show Miracles is coming back in San Antonio for the holiday season! Beluga & PWSD Stadium is also getting a Christmas show. Anddd Clyde & Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas will be coming to SeaWorld San Diego, SeaWorld San Antonio, and SeaWorld Orlando!
