Hello ZooChat!
It's been a long time coming - this is my first time posting on this site, having considered myself a zoo nerd (and avid ZooChat lurker) since 2022. The wonderful and comprehensive threads on this forum have been both a source of knowledge and a huge inspiration, and I hope I'll get the opportunity to give back during my time here!
I'm a marine biology student, but I also love terrestrial zoology. My 'local' zoos are Bristol Zoo Project and Noah's Ark Zoo Farm, both of which I hope to re-visit before the year is out. My most recent zoo trip was Pili Palas Nature World in Anglesey, during which I compiled a species list. I would love to write a review at some point in the future if it's something people would be interested in reading.
My favourite animal to see at zoos is the komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis). It's a personal ambition of mine to visit every UK collection that exhibits the species (3 down, 5 to go!).
I still have a lot to learn about this site, the zoo world, and zoology in general, so feel free to correct or give any feedback on anything I post
