What are you currently reading?

I have way too many books than what I could normally stomach, as for now I'm currently reading Niccolo Machiavelli's Il Principe and Ilan Pappé's The Biggest Prison on Earth: A History of the Occupied Territories.

I finally stuggled through Stormlight Archives and for the foreseeable future i'm done with the cosmere...

I started the Bloodsworn Saga by John Gwynne and for now am sailing through and realy enjoying it

I just read a book that was made by my mother in her free time. She compiled a bunch of old letters to retrace the story of a great-granduncle of mine who died during WW1, and how his family dealt with his loss. It was strangely moving and powerful.

"Les chasseurs d'épices" by Daniel Vaxelaire : about the ancient quest for spices, and especially the odyssey of the famous explorer and botanist Pierre Poivre.

Science fiction, but not fantasy. Been reading SF since I was about 11 years old. Also enjoy decent horror and ghost stories, especially when I am camping in the outback, far away from anyone else, and preferably during a thunderstorm! Any adventure books.

The Brilliant Abyss: Exploring the Majestic Hidden Life of the Deep Ocean, and the Looming Threat That Imperils It by Helen Scales

Also still reading Centennial by James A. Michener - that's a big one

I just finished Our lady of the Nile by Scholastique Mukasonga. It's about life in an all-girls school in Rwanda in the 1970s and it's really good.

There is one chapter about the gorillas that live in the mountains in the north of the country. Dian Fossey is mentioned (without openly giving her name) and she is painted in a completely different light from what I was used to. People in Rwanda didn't like her and felt like she was scorning them.
