I haven’t seen the mangabey at all this year. They had two as of last year, but I know at least one of them has since passed away. I’m not sure if the last one died as well, but the species has been removed from the zoos physical map. Is the species still signed? When I was last at the zoo, the signage had been removed. The red-crowned mangabey has been off display for a couple days. Has anyone seen the species recently?
It has been said there are four left in the United States, one at Denver and two at Binder Park - does Kansas City onpy hold one individual?
Two fennec foxes named Radar and Echo were born on June 3rd.

I have been looking over the online map for a couple days. The species is listed and marked on the map, but like the giraffe is marked "off display" when you select the species. By the way, this feature is super nifty!I haven’t seen the mangabey at all this year. They had two as of last year, but I know at least one of them has since passed away. My bad, I had assumed you had already visited. The online map is not super up to date. There are species missing from it that have been recently added, and it still says the Kopje section is under construction when it has been completed for a few months now. The map is pretty accurate as far as which species will be out on a daily basis though.I have been looking over the online map for a couple days. I haven't visited yet but am planning to visit later this year.
Thanks for the insight. I did notice the Kopje discrepancy but it's mostly the species visibility part that is fascinating me so much. There's been a few times I've missed a species and been unsure if was timing or just off display so I found it really cool to imagine I could just check the map and know. I'd love to see more zoos do this.My bad, I had assumed you had already visited. The online map is not super up to date. I’m guessing it says the mangabey is off display because they are no longer on exhibit, and they just haven’t removed the species from the online map yet. The species is likely gone from the collection unfortunately.
Two one year old male sitatungas ("Mushroom" and "Chili" are acclimating to the former bongo and duiker yards in the West African zone of "Africa" , which are now joined under the elevated boardwalk, and are alternating in the yard with lesser kudu.
