Planet Zoo Zoo Lore Suggestions

I’ve been planning out for quite a while now a way to build a sandbox zoo in the game that features every animal in the game (plus potentially some modded or implied animals for anything I think is a must have that didn’t make it into the game), and for most of the entire roster this isn’t an issue, but there are some species that overlap a niche and I don’t usually see both in a single zoo so I would like some lore ideas as to why the zoo would have all of them!

Elephants
- African Savannah Elephant
- Bornean Elephant
- Indian Elephant

I know there are zoos who have mixed groups of elephants, or even the Miami zoo has both African and Asian elephants in separate parts of the zoo, but I’m struggling to wrap my head around a realistic reason that all three could be in one zoo

Apes
- Bonobos
- Western Chimpanzees

I might just not be aware of any zoos that have both, but it seems to me most zoos have one or the other

Tigers
- Bengal Tiger
- Siberian Tiger

Most zoos seem to only have one variety of tiger in my experience, so this is another one that I am unsure of a realistic reason a zoo might have both

Any suggestions/ideas are appreciated, and for those familiar with game if you have any lore ideas for any other species I would love to hear them!

The former Buenos Aires Zoo/current ecopark housed both species of elephants: the Cape Elephant (Loxodonta africana africana) and the Indian Elephant (Elephas maximus maximus). The three females lived in the same enclosure until the Indian elephant was moved to a sanctuary in Brazil in 2020.

The Bubalco Zoo, located in the Argentine Patagonia province of Rio Negro, once housed both species of tiger: the Siberian, a male named Dersu who had arrived from Canada, and a pair of white Bengal tigers. The female arrived from the Buenos Aires Zoo and had babies there. After a while, their website was remodeled and no longer contains a list of the animals they have.

I think Twycross has both chimps and Bonobos, and Prague has three tiger subspecies in seperate exhibits (Sumatran, Malayan, Amur).

Prague holds Sumatran and Malayan both in the Feline and Reptile Pavilion while the Amur is in the Northern Forest.

As far as the elephants go, I think having all three elephant in the same zoo, or even the same enclosure, would be perfectly fine. You probably don't need both subspecies of Asian elephant, but you totally can if you want. In my experience, when multiple kinds of elephants are held in the same zoo they're generally both located in the same area.

In the case of the chimps, I know that the San Diego Zoo houses both common chimpanzees and bonobos, and I'm sure many other facilities do as well. They definitely shouldn't go in the same enclosure but I see no problem with having both species in the same zoo.

As for the tigers, I don't recall ever going to a zoo that housed more than one subspecies, but it appears to be plausible if you're interested in doing so.
