Alipore Zoological Gardens Polar Bear in Alipore zoo?

IZY Vol. 9 Iss. 1969 - The Census of Rare Animals seems to be featured as a source, but I've never actually read it, so I don't know. However, India is too hot to keep polar bears.

I don't think Japan (except Hokkaido and Tohoku) where I live is very suitable for raising polar bears, but it's still not that hot compared to tropical countries such as India and Singapore, so Japanese zoos continue to keep polar bears.
The São Paulo Aquarium in Brazil still keeps polar bears, but it is indoors, so there will be no problem.

The information on zootierliste is not necessarily correct, but since there is a source of information, it cannot be said that there is no possibility that it was keep in the past.

The database for Ulrike Joerres' Eisbären site lists a male and female pair at Alipore, arriving at the zoo on December 4th and 5th of 1929, though there's no information on their deaths

Sao Paulo Aquarium in Brazil is kept indoors, so I don't think the heat is a problem.

The lack of natural sunlight, concrete flooring, and constant loud noises are problems, though.

I'm a little worried because the Sea World on the Gold Coast is raised outdoors.

Okay, so... When it comes to animal husbandry, focusing on one specific aspect isn't helpful. Gold Coast's Polar Bears have multiple, naturally landscaped yards, several pools, a stream, a misting system, and enrichment.

Doubtlessly, their welfare is significantly better than the Brazil bears.

The polar bear of Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise were also raised in a similar environment.
