Based on this video:Have you any more info on Sinka wang Zoo in Pontianak? Animal collection, set up, plans or anything other?
Based on this video:
The collection include Bornean native species like gibbon, hornbill, owl, binturong, civet, whitsling duck, pheasant, eagle, and Asian arowana
Other species include ostrich, common or ring-necked pheasant, chicken, eclectus parrot, cassowary, peafowl, python, tiger, and lion
The zoo itself looks like Cihampelas Point if it entirely outdoor
I guess they really believe that fish salt can make saltwater fish to live in a freshwater aquariumI saw some of the aquariums has mixed freshwater and saltwater fishes. Are they out of their mind or something?

I wasn't even aware of this update. Sinka Zoo, one of the country's worse, is a very obscure collection. No official social media presence nor a really significant appeal even by local media in West Kalimantan, despite being "known" enough that Batu Secret Zoo sent their leopards and some animals to them, and had even received an female pygmy hippo (off all things they shouldn't be able to access).Based on recent online videos, it seems that the scale of this zoo has been reduced from a comprehensive one to an indoor MINI zoo. Most of the animals appear to have been concentrated in a single building, and large beasts, elephants, and other large animals seem to have disappeared. Does anyone know what has happened?
JAAN on Instagram: " ANOTHER ZOO, ANOTHER REPORT OF SUFFERING We just received a disturbing report about Singkawang Zoo. The animals are in extremely poor condition — and shockingly, even dogs are being kept in cages. This is not an isolated case. It’s just one of many reports we receive about the ongoing cruelty in zoos across Indonesia. We are calling on the government to: Take immediate action Set and enforce national protocols and standards for zoos Evacuate the suffering animals from Singkawang Zoo Enough is enough. The suffering must end. #ZooReformNow #IndonesiaZoos #EvacuateSingkawangZoo #AnimalWelfare #JusticeForAnimals ⸻ KEBUN BINATANG SINGKAWANG — LAPORAN BARU, PENDERITAAN YANG SAMA Kami baru saja menerima laporan mengkhawatirkan tentang Kebun Binatang Singkawang. The only reliable information and update coming from this zoo is from YouTube videos made by visiting guests (Though often incomplete or even reliable), or from occasional news report from time to time. Though personally, my assumption is the escapee tiger incident in 2021 (Resulting in 1 tiger being shot death) might be the reason they downgrade themselves to a mini zoo level, either due to self-evaluation to avoid such cases again or sanctions by BKSDA or PKSBI (Indonesia's wildlife agency and zoo/aquarium association association, respectively).
Yes, unfortunately. They're one of the country's worst, which is sadly not a high bar to achieve.JAAN on Instagram: " ANOTHER ZOO, ANOTHER REPORT OF SUFFERING We just received a disturbing report about Singkawang Zoo. Regrettably, despite the zoo's construction of a new building, the animals' living conditions remain abysmal. A rare white-bearded gibbon still appears to reside here, yet it is extremely emaciated, looking nothing but skin and bones.
