Chester Zoo Chester Zoo discussion and questions 2025

The current chimpanzees living at Chester are:
MALES: Nicky, Dylan, Eric, Carlos and Jeff

FEMALES: Rosie, Farthing, Mandy, Sally, Layla, Alice, Vila, Chrissie, Pattie, ZeeZee, Stevie, Annie, Toyah and Chrissie's new baby.

The last time I saw Toyah was the 1st August, at that point she was still on the sign. Personally I wouldn't use the sign as gospel as ZeeZee nor Jeff are on there either. A photographer posted a photo of Toyah under the zoo's location tag on Instagram 20 hours ago and I've messaged asking for when he took the photo - I'm also going to check through my photos from my last trip to see if I have any of her.

The group would also at least now number 19 following the birth of an infant to Chrissie a few months ago.

As far as I'm aware Sarah passed away quite a while ago. Jeff is the youngest of the males, Alice's son who was born last year passed away around a month or two after his birth.

For Toyah I think people should try and get a confirmation from the zoo before speculating too much. She's not the only one missing from the board, as Zeezee and Jeff also aren't on despite both being very much confirmed alive.

That's sad to hear about Alice losing her infant last year - she hasn't had the best of luck being a mother unfortunately.

Yeah I double checked, I missed taking Sarah off the list.

Boelen’s Python were offshow on my visit Friday, are they back on show now? They have had fairly bad luck with this species and down to their last individual
