Hi
I just visited River Wonders on Monday (Sep 15th). I watched the performance, but did nit see the beavers. The sfaff said they no longer hold beavers,
Did the beavers move to another place? I went to all 5 Mandai parks in the past couple of days, but didn't see any beavers.
Thanks! Glad to hear that!Justin and Selena the Beavers don't appear in every show. They are alive and well and still at River Wonders as far as I am aware. Which "staff" did you ask? Those providing frontline guest service are part time workers that mostly know nothing besides their immediate tasks.
Thanks! Glad to hear that!
I asked one of the staff who were checking the reservations for the performance before entering the performance area. Maybe he didn't know the animals well...
The capybara enclosure does seem small for anteaters but they might have moved one of their juvenile anteaters there? Not so small Updates from today:
- The Amazon River Quest has quite a strange change in exhibits. As Zooish mentioned on the BP Thread, the Scarlet Ibis aviary houses them once again alongside the pair of Southern Screamers.
However 4 Capybaras also currently call that enclosure home alongside Green Oropendolas and Squirrel Monkeys which I also saw. Unsure if the larger primates are still there.
The original Capybara enclosure beside the Flamingos however now houses Giant Anteaters, though I could not confirm any individuals as I only saw their signboard there.
- The Congo Pufferfish has moved from the first River Gems enclosure to the Atlantic Tarpon enclosure.
- The Horseshoe Crabs were apparently taken off display as they were getting old, though apparently Mandai is currently planning on importing more individuals. Whether they will return to be displayed in the same enclosure with the Clouded Archerfish being residents there or move to another enclosure is unknown for the time being.

Originally all the yangtze alligators that were in the collection (3 in total at the time) were moved into one slightly larger exhibit at the Singapore Zoo a few years back, most likely for breeding purposes if I remember correctly. During this period, a confiscated young Tomistoma began to take residence in the former alligator exhibit, and subsequently this exhibit just continued to house the other hatched young over the years. Why did River Wonders begin keeping Juvenile False gharials (Tomistoma) instead of Chinese alligators? (The False gharials currently kept at River Wonders were likely born at Singapore Zoo.)
I see, but it still feels odd that the False gharial (Tomistoma), native to Southeast Asia, is being kept in the Yangtze River Section.Originally all the yangtze alligators that were in the collection (3 in total at the time) were moved into one slightly larger exhibit at the Singapore Zoo a few years back, most likely for breeding purposes if I remember correctly. For the case of the flamingos, the original flock prior to the opening of Bird Pardise was of Carribean Flamingos, but the entire group were sent to be mixed with the Bird Paradise group to increase genetic diversity for breeding when that park opened. I guess the greater flamingos were just used to act as a replacement. There's also guanacos and greater flamingos in the Amazon Quest.
I loved River Wonders, but they do take some creative liberties when it comes to geography.
