Random question…. Does anyone know what year the ‘Waterbus’ stopped operating a ‘bus’ service and became a boat ride. Thank you
Where was the new Komodo exhibit supposed to be?They could also decide to build the komodo house in Islands, as originally planned, the area is still unused, allowing there current house to be used for Madagascar species

Maybe the Parson’s, Zonosaurus, day geckos and leaf tailed geckos mixed in with the Radiated tortoises. Or an aye aye enclosureConsidering one of the juvenile Komodos was moved over to Monsoon Forest recently... it's entirely possible a move might be on the cards. The big question is... what goes in the big display in Dragons in Danger if it becomes a Madagascar house?
I don't know - somewhere in Islands.
It was an area just off the path in-between the banteng and the tigers, towards the the main road that runs along the edge of the zoo. There area is still free and just waste ground, used for random storage of random itemsWhere was the new Komodo exhibit supposed to be?
Thank you @bongorob can always rely on you.The last map to show Waterbus Halts was in the April 1979 issue of Chester Zoo News.
Chester first exhbited red-billed curassow in 2001. The pair were exported in 2001 and replaced by a new pair. They were the first zoo in the UK to breed them in 2004.
I think a lot of visitors miss them, their aviary is a bit out of sight. It was originally built for parrots.
Incidentally Chester also achieved a first UK breeding with bare-faced curassow Crax fasciolata in 1966.

2025 I do not know if they have bred this year.
I believe the female in question, Tina, died in January 2022.Hiya does anyone know what happened to Tina from Chester chimp group? Born 2009. While on the subject if anyone has a semi/complete history of Chester’s chimp troup I would love to hear it! They have such an extensive history and many of the chimps born there are scattered all over the world!
Are they living in their old habitat i.e. the one singa passed away in, or they living somewhere else?Nice article with some good pictures of the new cheetahs after their arrival from YWP - was fun to see them as cubs so look forward to seeing their journey in their new home.
